Plenty of hauling power, too! Hard aluminum oxide guides.

Good rod I'm a 64 year old bass fisherman, who has recently retired & have been doing quite a bit of crappie fishing lately. This is the first really long crappie pole that I've tried. I was concerned about strike detection, wondering if the 12' length would keep me from feeling bites, but NOT SO! It's fun to use, seems strong enough, and long enough that I don't have to tie up to the target tree to fish around it. If it's too windy, I still tie up & use shorter equipment. October 29, 2014
Very good rod I purchased this rod, and matched it up with the Okuma trio high speed. It is very sensitive and strong backbone rod. If u like Sensitivity and Strength... Then this is a rod 4 u. April 14, 2014
Best long Rod I ever used This is a very sweet rod with plenty of fill to me it put's b&m to shame and the Sam Heaton is a joke IM6 with those and the bass pro is IM8 which is a big difference in touch and fill this is very sensitive rod I went back and picked up 2 more for a trip to KY lake where I could have back up just in case great rod. satisfied I purchased the 10ft model of this rod to replace a 10 ft BPS Wally Marshall pro series. I believe them to be the same rod. The Wally Marshall had the upper 6 inches broken some time ago. I actually liked that better than the original 10 ft. Later I broke the Wally Marshall again at the upper 2ft area. Wasn't a rod failure, but my own bad decision with a 3lb channel cat. Satisfied with this rod. Prefer the brown color. Wouldn't mind seeing it have just a little more back bone. Much lighter than the 12 ft . Ordered 7/3 arrived 7/6 with regular shipping. Very satisfied with shipping. July 11, 2013

Rod design + comparison

Details:
Does this rod have the Cork touch through handle for direct contact with the bank or there a description error? I do not see it in the photo. Also how does this rod compare to Mr. Crappie Wally Marshall Signature Series Crappie Rods?

A:
Yes it has the touch through cork. I believe it to be the same rod as Wally Marshal Pro Series crappie rod. Brown in color compared to green Wally Marshall.

Yes, it has a cutaway for your thumb on top in front of the reel seat. Never used Wally's rods.

I recommend a med to small spincaster. I have a zebco pro ZO2 on mine. The ZO3 would be fine too.
