A:
I stick to no less than 12 lbs test when flipping. The heavier the cover, the heavier the line. I find that 14 lbs test works just fine for me in all of my flipping situations.

if your using fluorocarbon line and you get a backlash and it bends... it weakens it.. so my advice... use 12 bps XPS fluorocarbon.. itll be stronger than 8lb test and fish cant see it in the water... good luck

well your pobably getting bad casts em i right and snagging yourself in trees and brush
maybe upgrade to 10 lb. and since i dont know what rod and reel you use it is hard to help
maybe change to braid but all you need is just simple 10lb mono and some confidence to catch them big ones

A:
The soft plastics in this kit make great jig trailers. Try using the more compact baits for a quicker fall, or if you are looking to slow down the decent use the trailers with larger appendages.

Yes, the punch baits (punch hog) are hollow with solid uppers where the hook enters the bait. The remaining baits are all solid bodied.
