The reviews for almost all boat covers sold by BPS are fair to poor. Either the covers don't hold up for any length of time and/or the covers are ill fitting to the boat in question. I went through 2 boat covers that fit great but broke down way too soon.
( My boat is a 2003 Tracker V17SC ) I then ordered and needed to return 2 covers that did not fit. I finally found the solution with the help of a cust. service rep at BPS. She told me about a company
(Dowco Inc. ) that makes custom boat covers at reasonable cost. Dowco does not sell directly to the public by its covers can be ordered via Bass Pro. I needed to provide the year, make, model and hull ID of the boat and BPS ordered the item.
I did so at the parts dept. of an Outdoor World store, but the same can be done on the phone. The cover only took a week to arrive at the store. My new cover cost $337 ( tax incl. ). It fit perfectly!!
I also kept the old cover that I patched up where needed and placed it over the new cover. Since the sun is the biggest culprit to cover wear, my new Dowco will never see the light of day. The Dowco has 6 tiedown straps for each side of the boat and 2 for the transom. After a lot of frustration with covers, I finally succeeded with the Dowco.
Now, since BPS must be aware that most of the covers it offers are of shoddy quality based on our reviews, why isn't the Dowco brand listed in the catalog and on the internet?? The cover I bought is only $40 more that the most expensive that Bass Pro advertises, That's a small prioe to pay to protect the asset which is our boats.
Note: my 5 star rating is for the Dowco cover and not for any other offered currently by BPS

I purchased a custom cover manufacured by Westland for my Targas 18 and in less than a year holes were appearing in the product. Bass Pro those has agreed under warranty to replace the product.

This product may be an exact fit for some boats without bow mount trolling motors. It certainly isn't for my '90 Tracker. The straps are a joke. If the cover is supposed to be an exact fit, why place a strap directly over the wheel well? I voided my warranty by cutting off all the straps and installing grommets and "bungee" cords. I now have a much better fit, but it's far from perfect.. Don't waste your money.

This is the poorest product that i have ever bought. After 2 years the cover had tears in it. After 6 months a strap was broken. One of the straps was over the tire and had to be attached to the axle. For what was supposed to be a exact fit custom cover it turned out to be a very expensive joke on me. I ended up throwing the product in the trash because it would have been too expensive to travel to a store location.

a company called Dowco has a terrific custom fit cover. It's not listed in the BPS catalogue but you can order one from the store closest you in the Marine Dept.Provide the clerk with the year, make and model of the boat. I also was asked to provide the hull ID #. My cover cost about $330 and is the strongest, and heaviest one I have ever seen.

My Dowco boat cover, ordered thru the BPS marine dept ( in a store ) fits the boat perfectly from bow to stern. It does tend to sag in the bow around where thetrolling motor is. When it rains, water tends to pool up there. I corrected the problem by inserting a pole seat into the bow seat holder. THe cover doesn't get stretched beyond its capabilities and no water pools up. The Dowco cover by the way is the best on the market. Hope this info helps.

I reviewed a Dowco custom cover that needed to be purchased via a BPS marine service dept. I provided the store with the boat hull ID number. THe Dowco is awesome. VEry heavy cover and lots of tiedowns. THe covers listed in the BPS catalog are all junk. Dowco claims to custom fit a cover for any boat.I have a 17 ft, Tracker and the cover cost me $330. which is a great investment to protect a $15000 boat.

I ordered and received a "exact fit" cover for my Bass Tracker Pro 16. After installing the cover, I noticed that it only had 4 loops for tie down on each side. the photos for the product shows 7 tie downs per side. i also received some 12 foot straps(4 each), which appears to be for straping completely around the boat and cover. the instructions are hazy. I expected this to be a transportable type cover. tell me what I got...l Richard....Answers
