  • Unique fat belly design
  • Belly slit for weedless rigging
  • Soft body texture for a fleshy feel
  • Fish on top or below the surface
  • Enticing tail action appeals to a variety of fish
The Shad Assassins' unique "fat belly" design draws more strikes than conventional jerkbaits. Soft body texture delivers a fleshy feel that keeps fish hanging on longer. Fish Shad Assassins on the top or below the surface, and you'll find the enticing tail action works in a variety of situations. Bass love 'em, but the Assassin is also a killer for stripers, sea trout, redfish, and other saltwater fish. The Shad Assassin features a unique slit in the belly, which allows you to fish the lure weedless and to set the hook easier. Hooking these lures through the head gives it great tail and body action.
Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 34 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Tail Whip Action This bait is awesome when used weightless and letting it sink and giving it a slight twitch, bait will move in all directions. One helpful tip to help prevent line twist is attach a swivel about 24” above the bait this way when it rolls the swivel will take the twist out November 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Consistent producer This lure not only produces well, but also produces larger bass. It is my go to bait and I highly recommend it. Will be buying plenty more. July 2, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bass Assasin In my opinion the best speckled trout bait there is a 5" crystal shad. The only issue is the bait is to soft and tears easy. Try it you will love it. May 15, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by verry unhappy the quality of the rubber was verry bad.the heads rip if u put them on any kind of jig. May 31, 2011

I fish saltwater so i a 1/4 oz jighead on 12" leader with a swivel on top so your line dont twist. I have no color for freshwater.

A:
The best color for bass is any color you like, depending on the ambient light when you fish, bright sun use light colors, dark or over-cast, use dark colors, and yes you can fish it Texas rig. I prefer to rig it on a Keeper hook, and fish it weight less.

the best way to rig them is with a jig head , push it on far enough to keep its body straight with the hook coming out of the top

I texas rig it with a 4/0 gamakatsu skip gap hook. Any color can be the best bass color from day to day but I use black shad or fire tiger.

A:
I call it the texas tuck. It's a texas rig but I make sure to tuck the eye into the bait. It's really best fished in the texas/floating style since it can be twitched in an area a few times before leaving the strike zone.

I like to use the trout with chartreuse tail but I don't think I saw that one offered. The shiner/gold shiner are good too.
