Barnett Vortex Compound Bow Package for Youth
I got this bow for my wife, wanted to get into bow hunting but didn't want to spend $300.00-$400.00. Came with package to store bow that is not good and would not protect the bow. It was broken in shipping. Did not come with arrow nock, peep sight. Arrow rest was very cheap (plastic) getting a whisker biscuit. Like the bow and the adjustment going to make additions and still have less than $200 in set up. Direction that come with the bow are terrible! I believe it would be very difficult for someone without bow experience, does require a bow press to adjust modules depending on needed wt and lenght, comes 26"draw and 45#

Very versatile starter
This is a great starter kit for kids. durable, and high quality riser and limbs. Fully adjustable(19-45 pounds and 21-27 inch draw length). Should last a starter shooter 5-7 years.
The rest is not very good. Changed it out for a whisker biscuit (easier for kids to load and hold). The arrows are a bit heavy as well. Just go pick yourself up some descent carbon arrows, cut to size for your son or daughter.
The quiver is also not so good. Change it out for a cheaper quick quiver.
My son was shooting 2 inch groups at 10 yards within 4-5 adjustments. I am guessing he will be doing this at 20 yards before too long.

Good Beginner Bow
I bouight this to try out archery and didn't want to spend a lot of money to see if I would like. I am 5'8" and it is close to the right size. I had it at the bow shop in town and they got me set up right. They seemed to think it was fine for getting into archery and shot 4 inch groups at 20 yards inside and wasn't even fine tuned. This was with the arrows it came with. Added a new arrow rest, loop, stabilizer and peep. They tested the draw weight at the shop and it came out at 46#s with the highest setting. I will have new gold dot 5575 arows at 27" to shoot and hopefully will get more accurate shots. It should work for 25 yard whitetail shots. I gave it 4 starts because I haven't shot it a whole lot yet and don't know how it will perform in the long haul.

Like the other reviews the bow is good. do yourself a favor and get some carbon arrows. at 24# when arrow hit the top of a hurricane bag at 15 yards the arrow deflected and bent. the sight and arrow rest are in need of a upgrade also. I do like the ease of adjustments but dang the arrows had me baffled.
