Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Blind and stand friendly Bought this for my grandsons. The safety features were a factor in my choice. The adjustable stock means that I can shoot it as well. It seems fast although I have not clocked it. Short and narrow makes it blind and stand friendly. Noise level is moderate. Balance is good - a lot better than most, and it is fairly light. Trigger has small amount of creep, but it is not bad at 3-4 lbs. I think the narrow limbs cost it a little in accuracy because it is difficult to cock evenly, but accuracy is fine for deer hunting out to at least 40 yards.. Mine came with the red/green dot site that I tossed and replaced with a scope. April 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Bow for the Hunt With the narrow limbs and light wt this is the perfect bow for deer hunting. Safety is very quiet. The 3 dot scope is great, you can choose red or green dots and set your light intensity. Low light condition require dim dots or it can wash the target out. First shot out of the box was low and right but was on the small target at 20 yds. After zero, dead on bullseye at 20yds (top dot) and 30 yds (middle dot.) Shot over several days and after each hunt. Bullseye each time, from both ground and tree stand. Make sure you use 100 grain broadheads. Package includes field tips. Great value for the price. Even comes with string wax. November 12, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Rotten Recruit I purchased this bow new and went out for an early morning hunt with my new Recruit. Within an hour and a half, six deer came through right on path. I aimed right on, and fired. The bow sounded like a shotgun blast and the string broke sending my arrow spiraling a mile off target. I get out of the blind and turn the corner of my garage, and the same deer circled around and were standing right in front of me, all broadside and I had a brand new broken bow. Took it to have it checked out, the front branch was tightened but still had a ton of play, and the string defective. I would not recommend this bow to anyone. The employee said he has had many Recruits in for service already this season and it is a brand new bow on the market.. DO NOT BUY October 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Barnett Recruit Big Bang for the buck! I purchased the Barnett Recruit for my 15 yr old son at my local Bass Pro Shop. I did my research best I could via the net before purchase, and the recruit is what I settled on. Assembly was a breeze, the scope isn't high quality but it serves the purpose. Sighted in at 20-40 yards. Chronographed at 302fps with arrows supplied with 100grain tip. Decided I'd take it for a test spin that evening...paired it up with some Lumen-arrows with G5-T3 broadheads (that i also picked up at Bass Pro) dropped a doe at 39 yards...quick, clean, ethical.... Bought the crossbow that day, backstraps that evening...we have also harvested another doe since. I'd recommend any-day! October 16, 2013

Comes with rope cocker as you mentioned. It also comes with a 3 dot scope and battery that can adjust light intensity and red or green dots. Comes with quiver and 3 bolts with field tips. Also has a small stick of string wax (think Chapstick). Which you should use on string and rails. Wax the rails after every 5 or 6 shots. You will need to purchase broadheads for game hunting (100gr wt) and a sling if you want one. Other than that it includes instructions book and all the hex wrenches that you need to assemble.

no~anything you require to draw the string is extra $. Some bows have the manual crank which I don't like - too slow and noisy. The manual string is my choice.
