I started out in the mid 80's with a Barnett Demon ...hated it. I currently own a horton yukon sl & a horton 175 .That being said i am no stranger to crossbows . This bow exceeded all my expectations by far !!!! rifle like accuracy & bone crushing power .I have harvested three deer with it so far two of which over 50 yards ( NEVER) would have attempted that with the horton 175 . ..... ask yourself how many times have you had nice buck out at 45 to 55 yards and you let him walk because you and your old setup is only good for 40 yards ......do yourself and taxidermist favor and get a buck commander .... I highly recommend

I purchased this bow after doing much research and discovered that this bow was the one for me. In the price range i was looking this is the only bow that i could find that had little to no compaints on performance along with durability. after shooting on two different occasions now as a novice shooter i feel that i could not have made a better purchase.. 60 yards free handed is no problem bullseye everytime. others that have much experience with crossbows have now shot my bow and love it say it is better than others that they have shot. it is silent and has great accuracy and feel the performance is great. The guys at bass pro shops really took care of me on instructing me basic maintance and how to keep my new bow up. i can honestly say that i have had a great experience with my new barnett buck commander along with feeling that the sales staff at my local bass pro shops did their very best to satisfy my needs.

This bow is extremely accurate. I would recomend removing your arrow after shooting or its likely youll be getting it refletched. I shot 2 bucks this year bot h dropped them in their tracks pass through shots. I love the power and the accuracy.

I was alittle scared to order this, thought it would be too loud. I got it home and it is just as quiet as the excaliber recurve, super fast through the chrono at 371 FPS, and extremely accurate shoot one at a time if you dont want to replace bolts. My father has the Excaliber Ibex and its a great crossbow as well. This bow just seems to be faster with more penetration. Both are excellent crossbows.

The scope is close. You need to fire at three different dots. (due to tight groups, you'll ruin bolts). If all three consistantly off in same direction. Adjust accordingly. I found my first dot on scope to be good out to 30 yards. then 40,50,60. Dead on at 60 after tweeked in at 30. My first year for a cross bow. Just finished my season here in PA. Picture below shows how it went. 50 yards. Perfect in through corner of heart and through both lungs. Made it 55 yards and dropped. LOVE MY GHOST 400 BABY!! Screaming fast.
The bolts that came with the crossbow had 100grain field points already on them so I bought 100grain broad heads.. Barnett recommends at least a 425grain arrow broadhead included.. And their arrows are 325grain..that's what I went with and bow performs great...
