We use to use other similar products, and my hunting buddy stayed after me for three years to switch to BARNES BULLETS. They are solid copper no lead filler, plus you do not have to worry about the bullet fragments in your game meat.
Yes, you are correct they are expensive, however the
sweet success of your hunt is a lifetime memory.
POOR QUALITY OF OTHER BULLETS ARE LONG REMBERED, HOWEVER THE SWEET SUCCESS OF HARVESTING YOUR GAME WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR MANY YEARS, AND YEARS TO COME.
BARNES THE GO TO SUCCESS BULLET PEOPLE.

Barnes Tipped TSX Bullets
I have reloaded Barnes X bullets since 1995.
Recently, I reload both 30-06 and .240Wby cartridges with the Tipped TSX (TTSX). I found in both instances when reloaded just below max recommended grains, that produced the best accuracy in my rifles.
I have not taken an animal yet, but the experience with the old Barnes X bullet tells me their performance regarding penetration, expansion and weight retention should be similar. Fouling is no greater than with other bullets. Plus, I regularly clean the barrel after every 10 rounds anyway. I can see what the bullet does from a clean barrel and then a slightly fouled barrel, which to my experience, duplicates my hunting.
I'm exited to have a slightly more accurate projectile, especially for the long range 240 Wby.

Best Hunting Bullet
In my opinion, it is hard to beat the TTSX as a hunting bullet. Great for handloaders as you can load at lower pressures and equate higher velocities. The terminal performance I have witnessed on everything from large African animals to deer is outstanding.
The only consideration when hunting is making sure what is behind your target ,as the bullet is so efficient, it seems to pass through and keep going.
I have used accubonds, a-frames, and others. Hard to beat the all copper performance and remain compliant these days no matter where you hunt.

i reload the 300 win mag the barnes bullits havent worked well for me but 180gr rounds will do it no nead to go larger thay will take a bull moose wateh seating depth barnes recomends 50 thounce jump dont put your bullit to close to the lans, gruves like other bullits
This depends on your target and your gun. A bigger critter or longer range shooting requires heavier bullets, and your barrels twist rate will determine what weight bullets will shoot best in your gun. The guns' manufacturer will be able to tell you your barrels' twist rate.
The Sierra .224 55 hg BTHP bullets are hard to beat when used in a 223.... I use them in both my Remington R15 as well as a Remington 700 VTR...... Sub moa groups are the rule ratherr than the exception from either rifle.... They are also VERY lethal when used on varmints and small bodied deer.....
