I have used numerous other bullets on the market and they do not have the stopping power that ExpanderMZ have. I shot a 12 pointer with one of the other leading bullets with a solid lung shot and I almost lost the deer due to it running away and not leaving a blood trail. I kept circling until I located it. I started using the ExpanderMZ last year. This year I have shot 2 deer so far with these bullets and both dropped within sight. Just for my info, I checked to see if there was a blood trail and there was a good blood trail that even a novice hunter could follow.

The 300 gr. shoots awesome out of my T/C Encore with a 100gr of Blackhorn 209 and a CCI primer... Only one problem is they load so hard with the black sabot. I used the red slick sabot and got fairly good groups but the black is the best. Would give it 5 stars but for the loading problem.

The Barnes Expander MZ loads easy and is very
accurate. My wife,son and myself all use them and
have had great success. Usually drops deer in their tracks. I will not use anything else.

I just shot a 250# wild boar using a 250-grain Expander MZ bullet. I was shooting a T/C Omega and using 100 grains of Pyrodex RS. The hog was sleeping against a tree at 59 yards. The bullet entered just behind the left shoulder. It went through the hog, taking out both lungs, and exited on the right side, just slightly lower and to the rear of the entry hole. The bullet blew a hole in the hide on the right side but actually stayed inside and was recovered when we skinned it. It expanded perfectly. You couldn't ask for better performance. I would highly recommend this bullet to anyone.

Deerslayer is wrong. The spit fire MZ come with yellow sabots. The expander MZ come with black sabots. Yes these bullets are a .45 caliber bullet with a .50 cal black sabot to be used with a .50 cal muzzleloader
