Rated 5 out of 5Â by bassmaster6969 This bait is amazing!
This bait has caught me so many fish, i had a few before and ran out and have bought more! fishing in NJ for big bass can be tough but the banjo minnow got it done! i caught 6 bass in 2 hours, 2 bass weighed 3lbs and 1 weighed 4lbs, rest were about 2 lbers. i now call this bait the "secrete Weapon" between me and my friends, once i got my hands on this product i got 3 of my other friends, Cole, Cade, David to buy this kit and they have had great success! the white color in all the sizes has caught me pass while fishing in small ponds, sand washes and quarrys. great product for the money!

Where do I start..great product...unfortunately the fish like them so much they tear apart easy. Therefore they don't last and cost is pretty high..so... With that said...they still put fish in the boat.

OK I have a love hate relationship with this lure. First the love, I have NEVER in my 32 years seen bass attack a lure like this, they jump all over it! 1st time out with it the first 5 casts all had hits and my 7th cast was hit FIVE TIMES! Fished 20 different baits today and nothing got their attention like the banjo did.
OK now the hate part, the front mounted hook makes for some VERY tricky hook sets, I missed 10 bass in a row earlier today! They really need some kind of stinger hook add on for all the short strikes.
Overall I recommend this lure because missing a few strikes beats not getting any hits any day. Even with all the short strikes it outfishes most of my other lures 2:1 and I like the weedless setup. Fantastic action, just like on the commercial.

Any size works but I find the 4in are best for all size fishA:Â
Yes, lakes and ponds. Look for cover and start fishing.A:Â
size 6in works best for me in clear water situations but perform well in dirty water 2, white is best color!Top 250 Contributor

I've never heard of Lake Anna, but if she has Bass in her I'm pretty sure they will catch them. As far as the best size to use; You'll have to let the fish tell you that. Start with the largest size that comes in the standard kit, I think they're four inches or so and if they don't work go to the next smaller size, I think they are around three inches until you find out what the fish prefer.Details:Â
they have said on tv how they say it has a genetic response? Is that what makes them bite? Or is it just the that its a minnow. does even work at allAnswers
A:Â
Watch the Minnows action in a pool or clear water. See how much action small twitches give it. Let the lure settle and then retrieve it SLOWLY with short quick twitches. If you don't catch fish with a properly worked Minnow, MOVE, there aren't any fish anywhere near you.A:Â
Yes. If you twitch them just right, they gimmick dying minnows and bass, crappie, perch, and many others eat them up.Top 500 Contributor
A:Â
It doesn't work. If you wanna fish minnows, stick with living ones.Top 500 Contributor
A:Â
it's a genetic response lure because it looks like a dying bait fish to the bass, crappie, ectTop 250 Contributor
A:Â
Yes, There is such thing as genetic response, it's similar to when a BEE, Wasp, Yello Jacket, etc... lands on your hand or arm. You simply jerk or "slap" it to get it off of you before it stings you. That was a genetic response that has been passed down through the ages. But with a Bass, they are predators and as predators they must eat when they can or they go hungry. I may not be 100% right but maybe you can understand. Ask your Science teacher they may be able to explain it better than me. GOODLUCKAnswers

i personally use the 4 inch minnows because i can't get ANY action with the 3 inch minnows...but you know, thats just meA:Â
The 4" minnows is all I fish with. You will catch bass 6" on up to bragging size.A:Â
4in or smaller i would say.A:Â
In my opinion, it mainly depends on the size of the local bait fish and the size of the bass. I live on a small lake and went out a 7:00 A.M. I started using them when one of my friends brought them out. i started with the 3 inch and didnt get any thing, so i went to the 4 inch and they started following it to the boat, so i put on the 5 inch, and got a 21 inch, 7 pound largemouth.A:Â
i used the smallest yellow minnow with the small hooksA:Â
i would try the 3 inch minnow first and the work your way up from there but the 4 inch minnow is pretty much an all around size. i have caught many five+ pound bass in one of my ponds with the 3 inch yellow minoowDetails:Â
If no one answers I will try this out and report the answer. Looking at the video, you can work it wacky style. That makes me wonder how effective it would be on a drop shot.Answers
A:Â
I have tried all the ways with no luck. I think a rubber worm works a lot better.A:Â
sure use the smallest minow u have thoughA:Â
I have and it doesnt workJust use the weighted eyes

A:Â
yes actually on my review i mentioned it...the 4 in and t3 inch work great ...the cotton candy color is good but the pearl red eye is amazingAnswers
A:Â
just flick your wrist.A:Â
It depends on how the fish are feeding. For aggressive bass/fish try a frantic random jerk in a 1, 12, 1, 12 pattern. If the fish are picky try drop shot, wacky, or even carolina rigged bouncing on the bottom.
This is a great go to lure when they wont hit anything else.

slow --- quick jerks --- let it die --- most of the hits come when it is sinkingTop 250 Contributor

I got mine off of the TV infomercial, it included a DVD with it that gave visual instructions and tips on how to work it for the best results. One way is to fish it "wacky style", "twitch-n-drop", even "dead stick" it. But the "bread-n-butter" technique is the "twitch-n-drop". And it is most effective in a clear water enviroment, because it has no rattles or sound attracters.I hope this helps you out, but don't be afraid to experiment and let the fish tell you themselves, Afterall; they can tell you better than anyone esle can.

I have been fishing with other lures and have been catching bass and when i am catching bass and i know there biting i try the banjo minnow but never have luck with it i have watched the video countless times so know im thinking im not creating the right action please help me or that was a waste of $20 thank you!Answers
A:Â
Sometimes you have to just figure out what the fish want. Try changing colors and different types of coverage and vegetation. I always use the jerk and real in the slack, try letting it fall longer.A:Â
I flip it in close to cover, lily pads submerged logs and let it fall, then i twitch rod tip and slowly reel in that slack. Generally Bass hit it on the fall. I don't use the other tecniques in the video.A:Â
I just jerk it a few times and stop for a few seconds and start again. I have had great success with it when I used it.A:Â
Have the same problem,it's a waste of money.Top 1000 Contributor
A:Â
Id ask you where are you catching them before you try the banjo? These are more like a jerk bait so they are best in clearer shallow water and go through cover well without hanging up.Answers

Its very good. The minnows included are of a wide range of colors and sizes, so its usable in most fishing situations, but I believe it is mainly intended for bass.Top 500 Contributor
