I have been using this pack for 3 seasons now. It simply cannot be beat for pocket design and layout, comfort and adjustability as well as functionality.
The rear pocket designs hold anything strategically located for the deer hunter.
The verticle pockets easily hold extra water bottles, cover sprays, or bow hangers and keep them right in reach when needed.
The external straps are perhaps my favorite feature of this pack. I can carry my outer layers of clothing into the woods strapped to my pack and easily put them on once I arrive without going into the pack at all. Same goes for walking out of the woods once it has warmed up mid day.
I can silently and securely carry a set of rattling horns in the woods using the rear webbed straps...no other pack I have used allowed me to do that.
The side pockets are perfect for smaller items and hold them securely and right in reach without removing the pack.
The comfort of this pack is second to none. It has adjustability to tighten the shoulder straps and then close them together in the front so the pack does not shift at all while sneaking into the woods. And the framing system on the back keeps the pack from heating up your back so the air circulates and keeps you cool at all times.
I have had many packs over the years...Expensive ones, cheap ones, big ones, small ones, back packs and fanny packs. This pack has been #1 for me now for 3 years and I have recommended it to everyone I know who needs or uses a backpack for deer hunting.
I hunt 3-5 days a week in Georgia, from 95 degree heat to 20 degree mornings and this pack has never let me down. The quality is second to none as I have not caused one rip, tear , zipper failure or strap break in 3 seasons and that is very rare for ANY hunting item. This pack is simply designed for the average deer hunter...and it delivers!!
Did i mention it also does a very good job of keeping my stuff dry in the rain?!

I rated it three stars because the pack was as desribed and the pocket layout was very nice and as a whole it was a nice pack. I have three issues with the pack 1) the hip belt was way to thin for my liking. That is marketed as an advantage but when I strapped a handgun to the belt I had to cinch it up so tied that it really cut into my stomach. 2) The pack road really high and instead of the hip belt supporting the pack it wanted to go around my stomach which was uncomfortable to me. I tried to adjust it as best I could but couldn't get it where I wanted. 3) the way the two side pockets came around the belt limited how I could attach my handgun. The pack was really nice and if I could have made it feel better around the waist I would have kept it. It was very comfortable when it was just sitting on my back and I would not discourage someone from trying the pack because my issues were personal preverence not necessarily a pack performance problem.

Great, comfortable pack that isnt too bulky. This pack is perfect for single day trips in and through the woods. The design is sure to keep you cool unlike other packs that sit directly on your back. You cant beat the warranty either.

Yes. It has one small pocket on each side that sit right above your hips. they are small and really only hold small accessories but yes it has them.

Kinda sorta. It has a webbed set of straps on back that can carry most anything if you arrange it properly. I have on occassion strapped my bow to the back and had no problems with it.A:Â

The pack does have straps to attach your bow and possibly a gun. It appears to be made more for a bow though.Details:Â
Is this bag big enough to put a spotting scope in the bag? I read somewhere at it was not for spotting scope. I really like the looks of this bag.Thank You

You could probably put a scope in the bag. It really isn't designed for a spotting scope but the big main pocket should be able to hold it.

I dont think this would be the Badlands pack you would need for a spotting scope. This pack isnt really setup compartmentally for a spotting scope. Hope this helpsA:Â
Yes. The main pocket is plenty large enough for a spotting scope. I just bought the bag two days ago and I haven't hunted with it yet. However, I can see that the main pocket could easliy handle a spotting scope and tripod.1 of 1
