Wanted a bigger cheap scope to put on my Marlin 917m2 and decided to buy one of these because of the good reviews. Bad idea. The allen wrench they supplied did not fit the turrets either. Initially got it to kinda zero in at 25 yards, but groups were not tight. Moved to 50 yds and adjusted the objective, now it was shooting about 2 inches high and some shots were 6" or more from the rest. I was sure it wasn't me or the gun because I've shot the gun before with a different scope and it shot great, it had to be the scope. Returned the piece of junk and spent the extra money for a Nikon. Shot again with the nikon and was shootin 5/8" groups at 50 yds on a breezy day. It's true, you get what you pay for. When hunting or shooting, there's a few things you can't go cheap on and a scope is one of them. If you buy a bsa and get a good one, play the lottery, it's your lucky day!

Really like this scope, you just need to get used to acquiring your target then zoom all the way in, very easy to sight in and I really like the integrated 17 & 22 gr turret a plus from my 3-12 x 40 where you had to change the turret ring, been hitting prairie dogs out to 320 yards great! The BSA badge fell off the first day of use but apart from that a very good deal

BIB BANG FOR YOUR BUCK !
I put this on my 17, shot a 50 yard zero, set the turrets and never looked back, this scope with a rangefinder and a good 17HMR is deadly ! just dial in your distance on the top turret and it"s pretty accurate . "poor mans Huskama.".. squirels out to 250 Yrds, no problem. the 12 power brings them in close.

The store clerk advised that this scope would be perfect for a 30-06 gun. The number like .17 is just a number. They are all shock proof so, don't worry about that. I'm a bit leery about a statement like that. Who's right?

The sweet 17 is designed for a 17 rimfire. The recoil of a 30-06 will tear up the internals of this scope. I've seen the .22 model of this scope where the reticle rotated a couple degrees just from regular shooting.
The Sweet 17 scope was developed for the 17 HMR rifles. The adjustments for this scope are set to match the 2550ft/sec. of the 17HMR round. You could use this scope on your 30-06 but don't depend on the adjustments working for the 06. You would have to zero the rifle and use it like any other scope.
For the Butler Creek Flip-Open Scope Covers to fit item numbers 38-876-022-00, 38-876-024-00and 38-876-023-00 you would need item number 38-885-519-00 and you will need Butler Creek number 39, which we do not carry at this time.
