I purchased this reel 2 years ago. Used it on yellowfin and bluefin tuna with no problems. For the price I would highly recommend it. If you are looking for quality and durability, buy one.

Recieved reel, very fine looking but made a grinding sound right out of the box. Boxed it up and mailed it back to Avet. I made a call to Avet six days after USPS tracking indicated that the had received it and spoke with Scott. After some holding he found my reel and told me it ws just the plactic clicker gear that had some extra plastic that needed to be trimmed. I had sent a note with the reel when I returned it asking that Avet would return the reel and include a reel sleeve for my troubles and return postage. Nope got the reel back with out even a note. Great reel, poor customer service so far.

I liked my Avet LX 2 speed so much, I ordered two more. Works great on yellow tail speed jigging, and when I gear down to the lower speed it's a lot easier to crank them in.
I plan to use the reels for dorado, sailfish and marlin this spring as well.

Bought this reel as a 50lb. set-up for two-day trips out of San Diego. Broke the reel in fishing rockfish this winter, playing with the two speed option and worked like a charm. Switching between gears was smooth and worked like a winch. Can't wait for this summer to try out on the pelagics. Stand by for follow-up report. This reel has its unique feel from Avet reels and it's made in the US.
