Attwood Bilge pumps May last 2 years if your lucky. I have 2 in my cat boat. Flushed mine out after each use and the best I've gotten was 2 years. Most 1 to 1.5 years. Now on my 3rd pair. No I'm switching brands. April 22, 2009
Don't buy this, unless you want a sunken boat! Second one I purchased within 2 years. Should have learned from the first one. Heavy rains over several weeks. Went to boat today only to find it full of water. Thanks Attwood for ruining my fishing over Labor Day! August 31, 2014
2 Years I have had 2 of these pumps, the first one only lasted 2 years so I bought another one and it has lasted 2 years. They just quit working the start of the third year. I am looking for a new brand. April 6, 2010
Less than adequate. Becomes clogged too easily even in clean boats..need to improve float mechanism. November 2, 2010

It would be nice to know, before I order, that this pump will fit in the tight quarters of my boat's bilge. What are the mounting dimensions? Can this pump be mounted to the side of a bulkhead or is it only mountable from the bottom?

I would say without measuring it to be exact, the unit is 3 1/2 inch wide and 4 1/2 inch long that would be the footprint. If you read the comments about the pump you can look for it to last 2 years. If your space is limited you might try looking at a rule unit. They have a very small footprint however they do stand a little taller. I don't know any thing else about a rule pump. Good luck
