Attwood Rod Holder Mount 6'' Extension 4.8 5 16 16
Attwood® Rod Holder Mount 6'' Extension I purchased the Attwood rod holders for my aluminum bass boat so that I could do the occasional troll for trout and Kokanee in my local lakes. I had a problem with clearance on the aluminum boxes and had a hard time getting the mount location right. I tried to buy the rod extensions locally and couldn't find them. Well, Bass Pro came thru again and had them in stock for a great price. They were just what I needed to get my rods and reels to clear the boxes on my deck and to get over the side of the boat. They are well made and out of the same tough material the holders are made from. Should last for years. May 4, 2011
Durable but be careful The holders work great for trolling with medium duty trolling rods. However they do not include instructions so be careful you install them so they pop off when the holder is facing forward. You also have to be careful installing the extension so it comes off in the forward position. THEY DON'T FLOAT! I lost one when I tried installing it when I was on the water. But I bought another from Bass Pro. I like their customer service. September 24, 2013
Long wait over I've waited for Attwood to come out with this product for 4-5 years. This year I was finally able to get a couple after they came out last year. As soon as they came out, they would sell out and with good reason. These are especially helpful in my boat because the rods I have in the back have longer handles and the extension gets them up off the gunnel and makes it easier to take the rod out of the holder. Great product. April 19, 2011
Very Happy With Results Recently, I purchased an Ascend FS10 fishing kayak. I love everything about the kayak except the front rod tender. The rod tender that came with the kayak did not offer very much height so that the butt end of my fishing rod was too close to the surface of the front of my kayak and therefore, I could not position my rod in a comfortable enough manner to satisfy the way that I use the kayak for trolling. I took a chance and purchased the 6" Attwood rod holder mount extension which fit perfectly into the front rod tender of my kayak. It is like they were made for each other. It works perfectly and now I have the height adjustment that I was looking for to fish the way that I like to. I could not be happier.....especially in the way that it worked out so well and fit so perfectly with the rod tender setup of my kayak. I liked it so much that I purchased a second one for another Ascend kayak that I own (an Ascend FS12). July 8, 2014

I think these are strong enough. I pull planner boards and catch 28" walleyes with no problems.

I have had the "Fish On" cheap rod holders and the bases would inter-change....
Should be no problem, I think that is a standard pin/socket.

I checked this when I tried toi find them locally. None were found so I tried the others in the Attwood rod holder and they were close but would not fit. Seems they all make them a little different to get you to buy their brand.
