Overall, I'm pleased with this product. It does what it is intended to do - carry a kayak. Positives include: aluminum frame solid and durable, wheels easy to remove for quick storage of unit in hull of kayak. Negatives include: nylon strap is junk (use 48' flat bungee cords to tie down), wheels bounce at slow speed if pulled behind bicycle (not walking speed, but very slow pedal speed), wheels squeek as they turn on the aluminum axle (perhaps WD-40 will alleviate this). It would also be nice if the spring-loaded wheel pins were somehow attached to the frame with a thin cable to prevent loss. Still, this unit is as good as any I have seen thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jetstream great product
I got this cart this week. I was easily able to move my 16 ft 2 person kayak (@70lbs) by myself. (FYI I am a woman of average strength.). The tires are large and rolled easily across sand and quarter to half dollar sized coral rock. I shopped around and there really wasn't another choice of the same quality for this price. Most of them were $20 to $30 more with comparable ones having small hard wheels which do not roll across rough terrain very well. The strap holds fine but I might replace it with 2 bungee clip straps.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by TENRING ok but needs better tie downs
the ties that came with kit was not enough to tie down a canoe to wheel chucks.went out and bought a couple cam lock tie downs and it works great.

The cart itself is really good. It is well made and light. Everything you could want in a cart, except the strap which attaches the cart to the kayak. It is junk, and not very easy to use. The simple solution is a 48 inch bungie cord, with a metal hook. You can run the bungie cord over the kayak, and connect the ends in the small holes on either side of the cart pads. This is easier to do, and keeps the kayak attacehed perfectly to the cart. At this price, with that modification, makes this cart almost perfect.
I would have given this 5 stars, but I had to come up with the solution, so only 4!

I think so but you'd need to use a tie-down strap to secure the canoe and cart together. It would be top heavy and over uneven ground, I'd expect it to turn over easily.A:Â
yes thats what I have.A:Â
Yes, this is also a Canoe Cart. ThanksAnswers

Probably one if you center it.A:Â
You will need 1 cart per kayak. Also, 1 person can move the kayak once on the cart.Details:Â

It might be too big to put in a hatch. Might fit in the seat opening.A:Â

In my Ascend FS12T, I can remove the wheels and fold up and stick it in the rear hold (where a crate could go). I don't use a crate, so I typically put the cart there when I hit the water. I haven't tried the front hatch, but it looks like it would be an awkward fit.A:Â
Yes, they do. At least in an Ocean Kayak scrambler 12A:Â
Yes. The wheels are 10-inches in diameter and are secured with a spring loaded clevis pin. Removal and installation is easy and they should fit in most kayak hatches. You have to be careful when removing and installing the clevis pins, however, as they can easily slip from your fingers when the spring is compressed and get launched several feet. It would probably be a good idea to perform this function away from the water.

Manufacturer's literature states that it will hold 80 lbs.Top 25 Contributor

The manufacturers website says it "Holds up to a 100 lb. load". Although the picture looks a little different, it has the same part# 11920-4A:Â
I hauled our tandem kayak about 70 lbs with 2 coolers filled up on it probably another 25-30 lbs no problem. You might add an extra bungee strap if it is really heavy.1 of 1
