This was cheaper than the two 1 1/4 stainless steel square u bolts. It's a little bulky on the pontoon rail, but very secure.

Fits my Carolina Skiff rail perfectly. Installs in a jiffy. It comes with stainless bolts and the nuts (self-locking, I think) are already inserted into the adapter. Looks and feels VERY sturdy. I've used them (ordered 2) several times already and am well pleased. I troll for speckled sea trout and for bluefish.

I initially did not realize that this required the combo mount, but it appears I just did not read it carefully. Once I purchased the mount and combined it with this adapter, it works great. It holds very securely to the rails in the bow of my boat. I can now get an inline planer board rod up into the bow of the boat and away from the congestion at the back of the boat.

The stainless steel lock nuts that came with the adapter were poor quality. Three of four stripped out, one on entry and two during removal. After drilling them out, and scarrring my 360 mount in the process, I replaced with new nuts and finished the install. What should have been a 5-10 minute install, turned into 1-hour. On a positive note, everything is now good to go.
Unfortunately, I emailed Attwood twice with my issue and have not gotten a response. I also emailed Bass Pro, who tried to contact Attwood themselves, but as far as I know they haven't received a response.
