This coat performs as advertised. It's light weight and is easily packable in my day pack. It performed well while walking in the rain at the beach. The only reccomendation I would have is that the Velcro should run the entire length of the zipper rather than in pieces. Otherwise it's a great product. Ascend makes great clothing.

My girlfriend and I live in Miami. we were planning an alaska trip for a while. I read online that online a good raincoat/wind proof jacket was needed, so I started my search! I have had many raincoats over my lifetime from stearns to columbia and this has tobe the best and the best at taking a beating. we went running, hiking, biking, and much more in Alaska and it was the best thing even. I really like the fact that I can remove the hood also.
My girlfriend ended up buying a columbia one but she wasn't as lucky as I was with this ascend one. it's not as nice feeling and it doesn't breath to good either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Melina Replaced my Raincoat I had for 17 years!
I had the best EMS Gortex raincoat for 17 years, but the inner lining was starting to fall apart, and was having a tough time finding another raincoat that was as comparable. I loved it the moment I put it on. Especially the inner lining makes the coat soft inside to wear, and also provides protection to the Gortex type inner material from wearing out. I feel confident that this coat will provide me many years protection from my log doggie walks in the rain like my EMS that I had for 17 years. In the store I also tried on the Gortex brand raincoat but the zipper was stuck in the store so I thought that was a bad sign and that coat was almost twice as much as this coat. This was the better choice and almost half the price. Usually wear a Medium and Medium coat fit perfectly, with extra room to be able to wear a polar-tex underneath for cold days.
