Rated 5 out of 5 by Steveks Ascend life vest
This is the most comfortable life vest I have ever owned. The strap system seemed a bit much at first but after putting the vest on I found out why they were there. I fished for 4 hours in my sit in kayak and never took the vest off. I didn't interfere with casting my fly rod or paddling. I also like the storage pockets on the vest. I put my keys, wallet and cell phone in them, if I fall out they would be with me.

This is a very comfortable PFD. It is great for fishing. The rod holder thing is questionable, I think I will likely remove that to get full use of the lash tabs. The pockets are awesome and have zipper pockets inside of them. It has plenty of places to attach things to and plenty of straps to adjust the size.

This a great PFD. Very comfortable and easy to get to pockets and fold down work area. There are a couple of straps on the top where you can put a radio via the belt clip. This is equivallent to the Stohlquist Fisherman PFD minus one strapping 4 way on the left side, otherwise it is the same vest probably made by them, but for about 30-40 dollars cheaper. I have the Jackson Coosa Kayak and this works well for it. Very well made . I only have one issue: It should have a couple of straps instead of the zipper only front. Other than that you cant go wrong with this one. It can be worn on a Kayak, Boat, Canoe or raft with comfort and it is cool does not make you hot. The pockets are well made and adds some protection to the items inside.

I recieved my jack and tried it out for 10 hours over a two day period. It was excellent. The drop down pocket tables are nice. the fit was excellent with all padding above the seat back. Sure beats a regular jacket!

It is supposed to serve as a rod holder. It is meant for you to clip your rod into and allow for an extra hand to tie with. In my opinion it is useless if you kayak. It also takes away from the 4 way lash tab. I am thinking about removing the strap and little clip from the lash tab.
The front clip is a lashing clip. You can attach webbing with a latch such as a nylon strap. you can also attach your fishing pole to the hook part that comes out while you are tying your line changing lures etc.
