I bought this kayak about 4 mths ago and have had a blast on it! It is my first kayak so I cant really compare it to the others but I can say,my yakn' buddies have been pretty impressed with it. My FS12 is definitely faster than their high dollar yaks, though it is heavier. It tracks well and has all the storage I need. The seat is awesome! No wet rear end or numb butt yet! Ive takien it out on the creek as well as out on our coastal ship channel and this yak is very stable. You'll hear guys bad mouthing Ascend but don't listen.I feel so strongly about these yaks,i plan on buying my wife one soon! These are great quality yaks, especially for the price!

by Arizonason Excellent Fishing Kayak
I have been having a blast in this kayak. I bought the D12 on clearance and modified it so it is pretty much the same kayak as the FS12. Very stable and very comfortable. I am 235lbs and 6'3" and this kayak was tailor made for me. I can stretch my legs in this boat with no problem. Enough room to pack for overnight adventures. Think back packing gear. Moves fast in the water. I can keep up and pass most boats with trolling motors. I have been taking it to the upper Salt River above Apache Lake in Arizona, witch is pretty much a lake in that area. I wouldn't take this kayak down any white water. Maybe class I or II rapids at the most. It's heavy but it tracks well in the water. If you're paddling against the wind you'll stop if you quit paddling. I was paddling in about 20-25 mile an hour wind and it wasn't easy but I didn't blow around like my friend in a 14'6" Old Town canoe. I tied him onto my kayak with a tether line and paddled him across the channel. A perfect angler kayak for the money. Great kayak for beginners!

Rated 5 out of 5 by usndvr79 A durable Kayak for fishing or camping
I have had the opportunity to use my new kayak 6 times at length in the Everglades and in the Key Largo Bayside Gulf. It exceeds my expectations.
I even carry my almost 3 year old son in his carseat strapped to the back.
The kayak paddles easy and fast. Most of all it is way more comfortable than either of my 2 older kayaks.
My older kayaks include a sit on top with a seat back and a tandem kayak with seats but low inside the hull. The cloth seat on the Angler is comfy and keeps my rear dry which is a large reason I looked at this kayak. It is way more economical for the average persons income than say a Hobie which is around $3000 plus tax.
I read a few reviews that said it is hard to turn. I did not find that at all. I would say it is average turning rate. The other complaint is that it is heavy. I cannot lie the thing is heavy. I plan on obtaining a cart to help me transport it from the truck to the water and back soon.
I would recommend this kayak.

I'm 6'3 280 lbs and this is an awesome Kayak! Great tracking and extremely comfortable! This is my first and last kayak. I purchased it after spending an entire afternoon in the store sitting in kayaks and weighting the pros and cons. Its extremely stable, great tracking and lots of storage.
