by hillbillycamper Best kayak I have owned
I purchased 2 FS12 Kayaks, 1 of each color. Had to swap out the Camo one after got it home and it set in the sun. Blemishes started forming on the hull. Independence Store went above a beyond to find one and replace it out. No more trouble with the new one, and none with the desert color.
My Wife and I have spent the last 25 years paddling the Platte river, from Rochester Falls to the Missouri. Plus all the south Missouri float trips. So I have a lot of seat time in a variety of boats. I have spent many hours and days in this Kayak on different types of outings. I have enjoyed every minute. The seat has to be one of the best things about the kayak. Because of the comfort you can enjoy all the other great features. I have been on Smithville Lake on a windy day. It handle the white cap waves from the wind and how fast can it go pass Bass boats. Paddled well against the wind and waves. As with all low profile craft you have to watch side waves. I have floated the Platte hit the below the water line logs, no damage. I added Fish finder, 10lb 26ahr battery, running lights, bilge pump, and a 1 amp solar panel. Handles the weight plus gear. Not only is it a great fishing Kayak, but works great for the several day float trip with gear. Swap fish gear for water tight packs and away I go. Obviously with all I have added the weight is not an issue with me. We haul both Kayaks together on a double jet ski trailer. I can see a issue for 1 person wrestle on top of a vehicle. At 6’2” 210 the foot pegs adjust with adjustment left at both ends.

by jra1998 Great Yak!!
Bought this kayak at the Prattville, Alabama store. Went in to get the 10' model but liked all the extras on this one. The seat was the selling point. The smaller model didn't have the mesh seat. I have taken it out for the past three weekends and find it very comfortable to sit in, was in for 5 hours each time and never felt discomfort. It is very stable, I'm 6'1", 250 lbs. and getting into and out of is simple and moving around doesn't cause it to tip over as I first thought it might. I find fishing from it easy. I can rig three poles with three different type lures and as the conditions change switch them out quickly. If you plan on fishing you'll want to get a drift chute that keeps you in one spot, the anchor is nice but gets old pulling up each time you want to move. If you are moving by yourself may want to get a kayak cart, makes getting from vehicle to water much easier. Overall a great kayak and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by thatguy2 This is a great yak
I picked up this little gem a couple of months and didn’t want to give it a review until I took it out a few times. My first trip out on it was a really windy day and it handled great. The only thing that I learned is if it is really windy and you have the anchor attached to the back. Then there is a chance that some water will get into the back where the crate spot is. Other than that it’s great I’m 6’3 210lbs and have tons of room for anything that I would need to bring with me. The past time that I went out I stood up in it. Now I have good balance and it does take a second to get used to but not too hard to do. My friend picked up the same yak and he didn’t have a problem standing in it either he’s 6’4 180lbs. It tracks well and moves through the water with ease. I just mounted my humminbird with a ram mount on the left side of the dash. Seems like it was meant to be, looks great. There is a little bit of a flat spot to put the transducer in the front. Now it does weigh about 80lbs but it’s not too bad for me. There are some padded spots on the inside for your legs that is a good spot to put your shoulder when carrying it. One of my big reasons for getting this yak was that with my old one. After being out on the water 5 to 6 hours my back would kill me. The chair in this it perfect. It has everything that I wanted and then some. All in all this kayak is the exactly what I needed. Once again BPS hit a homerun with this. For the price it can’t be beat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OkieWaters Great kayak
Got this kayak early last spring and it has tons of storage! Its very stable in rough waves and high winds. I'm a small guy only 5'8" but I can't tip this kayak over no matter how much I try. However I would not recommend standing up in this kayak, it doesn't have a flat bottom cockpit so balancing is difficult. I love this kayak, tons of room and storage, and the camo color blends in with the murky Oklahoma rivers perfectly. The seat is very comfortable!
Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is this kayak is heavy! Even empty it's at least 75lbs. So loading or unloading alone is difficult.
All together this is a great kayak!
