Our Ascend kayaks are so popular, we can hardly keep them in stock! And now, the FS10, our feature-packed kayak designed for serious anglers, has been enhanced in multiple ways to make it an even better value. It starts with an advanced hull design that utilizes an extended keel with performance rocker and strakes to deliver the superior maneuverability, tracking, stability, and easy paddling when you want to get to that special spot quickly. The large open cockpit offers easy entry and exit at the shore with little restriction of movement while casting and retrieving considering the 31" width. The improved DLX removable seating system allows for all day comfort on the water or allows easy removal of the comfortable padded steel-frame seat for a quick rest ashore. The screw out deck plate with integrated weathertight storage keeps smaller items high and dry. Dual flush mount rod holders make transporting rod and reel combos easy, while the fully adjustable, light tackle rod tender holds your rod while fishing with 360º of horizontal adjustment and vertical rod tip adjustment. Two 4'' cleats provide an easy anchor for a minnow bucket or fish stringer. Dual bungee paddle keepers hold your paddle securely while fishing. Bungees over the built-in multipurpose sternwell and bow help lock down your fishing gear while moving from spot to spot. Deep molded dual cup holders and two large catch all trays in the cockpit make it easier to keep the gear you use often close at hand. The threaded and sealed drain plug allows you to quickly drain excess water. Molded-over rubber grip handles at the front and rear make carrying the FS10 easier. by ShawnNIowa It's Fun Again
I used to canoe in the Ozarks. Then I lost my right hand in an accident and life went sideways. 20 years later my son-in-law talked me into a kayak. I got a used Hobie Outback at a fair price. Never really felt comfortable in it. Too big too heavy I always felt it was controlling the trip. So I sold it. Did extensive research and had my mind set on a Pelican Strike 100X. But as part of my research I went to my local Bass Pro. And really liked the looks and and functions and price of the Ascend FS10. talked to two knowledge gals about it. Rachael said try it if you don't like it there's a 30 day return policy just don't beat and bang it. Well after the maiden voyage I WILL NOT be returning it. On a 5 scale I give stability a 4.5 Glide a 5 Tracking a 5 Comfort a 6 (yes a six) Functionality a 5. Yea It's fun again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FRANKTHETANK89 BIG GUY, BIGGER KAYAK!
My very first attempt to pilot a kayak was a miserable mistake and possibly the best youtube video ever uploaded. I refused to ever get on one again. Then a family member purchased the D10 by Ascend. I decided to give it another try, this time without camera phones all around, AND on a calm lake cove in Northeastern Oklahoma. Not only did I not ROLL the kayak, I did NOT take on water getting in or out of the kayak. After a few months of borrowing the D10 I decided to purchase the FS10 model. After one use I became instantly addicted to Kayaking. At 6'7" and just over 300lbs (on a good day) I am comfortable and not restricted in anyway using this craft. I have not done any fishing yet, just a trial run and a very long and intensive river float. She is sturdy and very easy to maneuver. I would recommend this model to any one who is on the bigger side of life. As a former athlete i can haul this thing around in a truck bed and carry to the bank from any reasonable distance. I thought the price was a little high at first but after I got out on the water and used her i can see the FS10 is very well built and I cannot wait until the next day I can get to the water!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ohio1234 great kayak
I will first state that i have never owned a kayak before so this review is on the fs-10 with no other comparisons.
I researched over and over on kayaks in this price range, i originally wanted a sit on top, but the reviews and overall design of this kayak had me convinced. We purchased two of these models, and I have no regrets with this purchase,
The kayak is very stable. i wouldn't stand up in it, but was able to get in and out of the boat on less than ideal shore conditions. I would think you have to try to tip this thing to get it to flip. i dont know how the kayak tracks compared to others, however, it went as fast as i expected/ needed it to go and tracked fairly straight (enough for me)
the only downsides i have with the kayak is lack of accessories. i wish it was equipped with a couple eyes for a trolly anchor and perhaps a few straps inside the hull for fishing boxes, gear etc.

I have just purchased this kayak and have already used it several times. Nice rig! I'm 6'3" and 275 lbs. and it's very comfortable and stable. Will take moderate choppy water with my weight/size combo. I mostly use it on hard to access small lakes. Nice features on this kayak not found on comparable kayaks that cost more money. Seat is very comfortable. I have had back surgery previously and have no problem fishing for hours from this seat/kayak. I added a couple of extra 4-1/2" cleats to the outside/front end of cockpit, for more anchoring options. Only problem I've found so far is, the flush mount rod holders have no small holes in bottom, so when it rains, rod holders will fill with water. I had an extra long 3/16" drill bit, so I just put a couple of holes in each holder to drain the water out. Works fine now. You could probably take a heavy wire clothes hanger and straighten it and heat one end and melt a small hole down in the bottom, if you don't have a long drill bit. I would've also liked to see the molded recess for the milk crate to be a bit deeper, but it does work okay as it is. It would've created a little easier access to contents in crate while seated. Other than those two things...this is a great kayak with a great price! Highly reccomend.
