Our Ascend kayaks are so popular, we can hardly keep them in stock! And now, the FS10, our feature-packed kayak designed for serious anglers, has been enhanced in multiple ways to make it an even better value. It starts with an advanced hull design that utilizes an extended keel with performance rocker and strakes to deliver the superior maneuverability, tracking, stability, and easy paddling when you want to get to that special spot quickly. The large open cockpit offers easy entry and exit at the shore with little restriction of movement while casting and retrieving considering the 31" width. The improved DLX removable seating system allows for all day comfort on the water or allows easy removal of the comfortable padded steel-frame seat for a quick rest ashore. The screw out deck plate with integrated weathertight storage keeps smaller items high and dry. Dual flush mount rod holders make transporting rod and reel combos easy, while the fully adjustable, light tackle rod tender holds your rod while fishing with 360º of horizontal adjustment and vertical rod tip adjustment. Two 4'' cleats provide an easy anchor for a minnow bucket or fish stringer. Dual bungee paddle keepers hold your paddle securely while fishing. Bungees over the built-in multipurpose sternwell and bow help lock down your fishing gear while moving from spot to spot. Deep molded dual cup holders and two large catch all trays in the cockpit make it easier to keep the gear you use often close at hand. The threaded and sealed drain plug allows you to quickly drain excess water. Molded-over rubber grip handles at the front and rear make carrying the FS10 easier. by Dutch8006 Great Kayak
Decided to sell my patriot kayak and try a different style of fishing kayak and went with the Ascend fs10. Very pleased with the purchase, have taken it out to a couple of different places and it performs great on the water. Plenty of room for what I need. Caught my first redfish the other day out of it and had a blast. Of course made a few mods to it for my own personal taste. Changed out the rod holder in the front for a scotty model. I use it for salt water and fresh and am very pleased with it. One of the best features is the seat, after 18 years in the army both knees are shot along with a bad back and I cansit in this all day and fee just fine. If yo want a good fishing kayak that is easy to handle and performs well this is a great choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LorneT Great Purchase!
So, about a month ago, I purchased this kayak. I love it!! I'm actually a canoeist but broke down and bought a Kayak. Should have done this years ago. At 6ft 2in, I have no problems getting in and out. Lots of leg room and being able to adjust the foot settings is great! For that matter, so is the seat that you can take out, put on shore and sit on a rock! It handles beautifully. For lakes and rivers, I would definitely recommend this. What's really nice is I can paddle for a solid 3-4 hours without even thinking about needing to get out and stretch my legs. Looking forward to Algonquin Park in the fall to really put it through its paces!

Rated 4 out of 5 by bsr63 Great starter kayak.
Picked up the kayak on memorial day, and have had it on the water almost every weekend since. It has become like second nature to paddle this thing around the reservoir.
I am 5-10 and about 230 and there is room, but my feet, legs get a little cramped after several hours.
I lost an anchor, no fault to the kayak, but I was pulling on that anchor with all I had leaning to the outboard side, and it was not going to flip over. You would have to go out of your way to get wet.
I use half a paddle, one handed and get the kayak to do what I want with little effort.
Things seem a little cramped, especially the items in the rear compartment, and the bucket idea is a joke, get a milk crate.
Love it, but I am moving up to the FS12 sit on for the room and ability to move around and stand.

by ShawnNIowa It's Fun Again
I used to canoe in the Ozarks. Then I lost my right hand in an accident and life went sideways. 20 years later my son-in-law talked me into a kayak. I got a used Hobie Outback at a fair price. Never really felt comfortable in it. Too big too heavy I always felt it was controlling the trip. So I sold it. Did extensive research and had my mind set on a Pelican Strike 100X. But as part of my research I went to my local Bass Pro. And really liked the looks and and functions and price of the Ascend FS10. talked to two knowledge gals about it. Rachael said try it if you don't like it there's a 30 day return policy just don't beat and bang it. Well after the maiden voyage I WILL NOT be returning it. On a 5 scale I give stability a 4.5 Glide a 5 Tracking a 5 Comfort a 6 (yes a six) Functionality a 5. Yea It's fun again.
