Our Ascend kayaks are so popular, we can hardly keep them in stock! And now, the FS10, our feature-packed kayak designed for serious anglers, has been enhanced in multiple ways to make it an even better value. It starts with an advanced hull design that utilizes an extended keel with performance rocker and strakes to deliver the superior maneuverability, tracking, stability, and easy paddling when you want to get to that special spot quickly. The large open cockpit offers easy entry and exit at the shore with little restriction of movement while casting and retrieving considering the 31" width. The improved DLX removable seating system allows for all day comfort on the water or allows easy removal of the comfortable padded steel-frame seat for a quick rest ashore. The screw out deck plate with integrated weathertight storage keeps smaller items high and dry. Dual flush mount rod holders make transporting rod and reel combos easy, while the fully adjustable, light tackle rod tender holds your rod while fishing with 360º of horizontal adjustment and vertical rod tip adjustment. Two 4'' cleats provide an easy anchor for a minnow bucket or fish stringer. Dual bungee paddle keepers hold your paddle securely while fishing. Bungees over the built-in multipurpose sternwell and bow help lock down your fishing gear while moving from spot to spot. Deep molded dual cup holders and two large catch all trays in the cockpit make it easier to keep the gear you use often close at hand. The threaded and sealed drain plug allows you to quickly drain excess water. Molded-over rubber grip handles at the front and rear make carrying the FS10 easier. I bought the FS10 for me and a D10 for the wife. These kayaks are very stable and roomy. I have put these in rivers, lakes, pond, and the Intracoastal Waterway without any problems. Absolutely love these boats.

by PoppaDave Lived up to my expectations
We have been fishing from an 11 foot Jon boat but wanted something that would handle better.
This Ascend FS10 is a great little yak. Handled well, didn't feel tippy. I was not disappointed at all, it was a blast to fish out of.

I bought this mainly to use in Creve Coure Lake, Missouri to go fishing. I've taken it out approx 7 times. Never kayaked before. There is no major issues. The front bottom could have had a small aluminum plate to prevent the plastic from wearing upon docking. There seams to be enough hard plastic there that scratching it up a bit will not matter.
It manuvers great. It's a little strange reaching for your tackle behind you for the first time. You get used to it. You can use the 2 rear pole holders to trowl with while you paddle. I've caught a couple this way.
Mine will fit inside my SUV with the front seat folded down. It sticks out the back about a foot. I just tie the hatch down with some rope. I think it would be difficult for 1 person to load this on top their SUV. I've not attempted this yet.
I think it's worth the money. I bought mine opening a bass pro credit card. It saved me about $50.

I have fished many different tourney trails in this yak in 2010, whitewater and salt. Never had a problem with stability or tracking. Best bang for your buck of any sit inside kayak on the market!!
