My husband and I bought these kayaks for the stability and also because they are actually very nice kayaks set up to be very comfortable. However, it is like moving a barge thru the water, very hard to navigate due to the width of the kayak, and it does not track at all. We used them twice and decided to return them to purchase the D10 sit in which is several inches narrower and is a wonderful kayak !!!!!!! Before you buy this kayak I strongly recommend looking at the same model but sit it ----- it is so much better, The seat that comes with the sit in is stadium style and extremely comfortable but the one with the sit on kayak has to be replaced, it is terrible. The rest of the sit on kayak is outfitted very nicely but it really is best for fishing and NOT navigating mangroves and other natural areas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LaKayaker Stable but too much work
I wanted to like this kayak. The Ascend D10T SOT is a beautiful kayak and has many excellent features. We were so excited about the kayak that we bought two . . . one for me and one for my daughter. However, when we arrived home with them, I immediately regretted the purchase. On the plus side, they are very stable. I had no worries about my daughter and her friends taking them out, because I knew that they would not tip. However, they were slow and unwieldy . . . more like floating barges. These kayaks were difficult to navigate as they do not track as well as other kayaks that we own. I am a small framed woman and these kayaks were too heavy for me. There are no side handles, so with the weight and width, I found it hard to move them around without assistance. The seat backs on one of the kayaks constantly slid down, which left the metal frames exposed when kayaking. We had to stop several times when we were kayaking to try to pull the seat back into position. The seats on both kayaks would move forward out of position when paddling. So after several frustrating paddling excursion we returned both kayaks. Bass Pro was very understanding and provided us with a full refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WILLYUM Alot of kayak for the money
First off, i bought this as a fishing kayak, and it is outstanding for that use.Tons of deck area and maybe the most stable kayak i've ever been on,lots of places to put gear ,rod holders and boxes.
What this kayak is not ,is fast, this is a plodding tub that actually tracks pretty good for a short kayak.
The width of this kayak means that you have to use the longest paddles available or you'll bash your hands on the sides.Do not get this kayak if you need to go long distances , it will wear you out, no glide at all.
As people mentioned , the seat will drive you nuts, it constantly rides down underneath you, and while you're on the water , you cannot adjust it back up.
But if you want a stable kayak for fishing a bay or river, this is a very good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Casey1970 Great Yak
For the price, this yak is hard to beat. In fact, it was exactly what I was looking for. It's wide and stable. one of my favorite features are the side consoles. I use those things all the time. I couldn't find another kayak that had side consoles that didn't cost an arm and a leg. It even has a little section just past the dry storage pocket that is made for my little portable tackle. It's also relatively light and fits in the back of my pickup with one strap.
I made 2 modifications. I changed out the seat. I bought one of those stadium chairs. It fits like a glove. I also added flush mounts. You can see both at the beginning of the video.
If you are planning to take week long river trips, this is probably not your yak. But if you are like me and like to fish ponds and small lakes for a quiet afternoon, this is your yak.
