by JoshV Awesome little yak
I've never owned a canoe or kayak but wanted something easy to carry to take fishing. After reviewing the pros/cons between this boat and the "Anglers" kayak I decided on this one. I'm 5' 6" and around 155 lbs. I had to move the pedals up very close to be comfortable, but once I found my "fit" it's great. It took about 10-15 minutes to get used to the kayak out on the water. I've never felt like I was going to flip out or tip over, even when passed by motor boats going way to fast.
I purchased two flush mount rod holders and mounted them on the front and back, it's a bit of a stretch for my short arms, but for less than $30 in parts I saved over $100 vs the anglers version AND you have loads of room in the back. I can carry my tackle box, rope, extra gear a fish basket and it all fits under the rear cover. I drive a VW Vanagon and this fits inside with the rear seat down with ease. This is the best setup for a person who wants to ability to get out on the water and fish without the hassle of trailers, motors, etc. I also purchased a fish finder and hope to have that mounted up soon.
The only CON with this little kayak is the plastic scratches pretty easy. Brand new after picking it up and bringing it home it had 2 scars on the side, not terribly bad, but not pretty. This past weekend I was able to paddle through about 3-5 inches of water, but eventually got hung up and had to get out and walk the boat back upstream. It’s got some pretty nice scars on the bottom, but nothing that will cause leaks. Still an awesome little setup for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 Sturdy, spacious kayak
I just got this kayak after I returned the FS-10 model because the hull was so badly warped, I couldn't get it to 'pop' back out even after the next day of purchase. I returned it and looked at the D-10, and found that the hull was was constructed much better, in my opinion. I like the large V rib running the full length of the kayak. And I love all the room behind the seat to store things. Just wish it came with a hard top to keep excess amounts of water out while going to rivers in slight rapids. Overall, the size is great. And with a small amount of effort, it loads up great in the back of my truck.
By the way, my whole experience with the customer service staff at the Atlanta/Duluth location was great. They all seemed to really care that I left the store satisfied with my purchase.

by Jayboy01 excellent fishing platform
First let me state that I am an experienced kayak fisherman and at the time of this purchase I owned an Ocean Kayak Trident 13 SOT. That yak was a bit heavy so I purchased my D10 in April (?) as a second boat so that I could have a light weight yak to throw into my van to go fishing on a whim on local ponds. What I liked about the D10 were it's light weight, it's shorter length and the fact that the hull was open so that I could get all my gear in behind the seat. Speaking of which, the seat is excellent. This is one comfortable boat. I'm 5'10" and weigh 195. There is a huge amount of room and I've spent many hours in this boat without any issues. I've paddled a lot of Pungos and other recreational yaks as well as my own Trident and (now) Hobie SOTs and this is the best seat of the bunch. The D10 is not the fastest yak but it tracks straight thanks to the molded-in keel. This is not a touring sea kayak but for my purposes it's a fantastic pond skimmer and fishing platform. I am VERY satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GGillin Very Stable
This was my husbands first kayak. It is very stable and he is quiet comfortable in it. It tracks well and has plenty of room for any gear you need to carry. My husband is 6 ft and weighs 260, and he has plenty of room. We have been on long trips and road quiet comfortably. We have two of these and they are easy to carry, I grab the front of both and he grabs the back. They are wide if you plan on hauling them on the roof of a small suv or car. We haul them in the back of our truck and its a full load.
