Background: Bought my first kayak Ascend FS12T and grabbed this cart to go with it.
Loaded the kayak on the cart and started the 150 yard walk to the pond. Walking on level/flat terrain, it pulled fine but once it became a little uneven with ruts in the path and minor rocks the cart instantly kicked out and dumped the kayak. This left me very frustrated an a bit wore out from trying to get it back on only to dump it several more times.
Don't let my writing mislead you, but the terrain was not flat but not overly rough either and I expected a $60 cart to perform.
This morning I got on youtube and found the solution... get a longer strap and double it up so the cart can't kick out. Running a long enough strap around the front of the cart legs, over the rear of the yak and around the rear of the car and over the yak again will give it stability and keep it straight. Ended up using a 15' ratcheting strap and I hauled it twice to the pond in this fashion.
Simply put, it doesn't do the job unless pulling on straight and level terrain.

Cart was on back order for over 3weeks. When received plastic end anti skid cap pieces split so will not stay on end. Plastic finishes cheaply made and do not stay in place
Cart hardware/padding good and functional. Easy to use and assemble. Also nice weight (only about 5lbs)
