All boats are a compromise
The problem with long sea kayaks is that they are difficult to turn. The problem with short sea kayaks is that they are difficult to keep going straight. This one falls into the latter category. If you are careful to keep upright, it will go straight. If you roll a little to the left, it will turn to the right, and vice versa. When upright, this kayak seems rather tippy, but it becomes much stiffer with a small amount of roll. I think it would take some effort to make it capsize, but other reviewers have stated that they have had it happen. Complaints about the drain plug location are valid, but the small amount of water that remains trapped in the hull is not enough to fill the centerline keel groove.

Great product, almost perfect
This is a great product and a super value for the $300 it costs, but to get five stars you have to be perfect and one detail keeps it from being so. The drain plug, the positioning of the drain plug is obsurd and is almost impossible to help get water out. Other than that I wouldn't want any more or any less from a kayak.

Just bought this kayak and its amazing. Im using it for fishing and I outfitted it with 2 flush mount rod holders, scotty power-lock rod holder, fish finder, and an anchor trolley for all under $50. I was going to buy the fishing model, but I figured I could do it myself for a lot cheaper and I did. This is a very stable kayak and very comfortable especially with the removable seat. The kayak has plenty of room to store a cooler behind the seat or in my case a tackle box. If you are someone looking for a cheap everday kayak or want to create a fishing kayak this is the one to get. The only thing that I wish it came with would be different colors.

I bought this kayak on sat. and took it out on sun. I do fish a lot and I really enjoyed the comfort and the use of the kayak. I do however have to buy fishing rod holders but thats really not a problem. I went thought the backwaters and also out to the gulf and had absoutly no problems. The only downside is when you are cleanling out the kayak it is hard to get the water out, even with the drain plug.

You may use a sit-in kayak in the ocean, however, you miay find that a sit on top kayak is a better choice. Sit-in kayaks will swamp if enough water enters the kayak, if you planning to kayak in an area with unsteady waters I recommend investing in a sit on top as these will not swap if excess water enters the kayak.
I'm 6'1 and I would think you might be able to do this with the A10, but not the D10 with the foot pegs. The cockpit is pretty open so that isn't really the issue Just leg room but as I said, without the foot pegs that come with the D10, you would probably be ok.
I am 6'2". I have plenty of leg room. Also the cockpit has plenty of room for a smaller person like a child. Just be cautious if you do take a child with you. The seat will "recline"but it does not have a "slide track" on it.
