I have been using Ardent products for the past four years! I like to use this oil because all you need is a little and that's it! It really works well on the shafts and bearings, it last a good while, and it stays on the parts really well, may not be number one, but it's a close second!

I like my Shimano Symetre and Saros reels but hadn't lubed them since I got them two Christmases ago. Really don't fish but a few times a month for about 3 hours at a pop. But they both started sticking a bit during retrieves. Two drops and didn't have a single problem last time out. Reel Butter is a very appropriate name.

I use this in combination with the Ardent Grease. The oil works just as advertised. Does not gum up or become sticky. I have not had any problems with the application of the oil on my reels. I am able to apply tiny drops just as needed. Well deserving of five stars.

All I can really say about this oil is that my reels all feel like they are still new except my Revos. I am very pleased with Ardent reel care products. If there is better out there I don't really care because Reel Butter exceeds all my expectations.

Is this good for the bearings on my reels, or should I get the ardent bearing lubricant as well? I figured this would work just fine but Im not totally sure.

I use it on my reels, and it works well! I haven't tried the bearing oil yet so can't say if it's better! But as far as the reel oil is, it works just fine, just use it very,very,very sparingly! A little goes a very long way!

The Ardent bearing lubricant is designed more towards the bearings, however, any lubrication is good for the moving parts of your reel. Routine tune-ups and lubrication of your reels after trips will keep your reels working for years to come and keep headaches from happening when you are out on the water.1 of 1
