This swimsuit gave my 2 year old son the confidence he needed to start "swimming". He will now jump from one float to another because he knows if he lands in the water he'll float right back up to the top. We were never happy with life jackets because they either leaned him forward or backward and floaties were just out of the question! When we first put him in this swimsuit he did float forward but we soon figured out we didn't put enough air in it. Now we can set him in the water beside us and he happily splashes and makes swimming motions to go back and forth between my husband and me. He even hands his swimsuit to us and says, "Time go swimmin' Mama!"

Been using for years
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has young children. I think it is best used around two years old to four years old. It gives them the independence to swim around safely and get used to swimming. I have used it with pretty much all my kids from my daughter who is 23 down to my youngest two now who are 3 and 1. We have used it at the lake and in pools. I cannot believe they are so hard to find now. They are much better at holding kids up than the half tubes they sale everywhere now.

First of all, Bass Pro Shop shipped my order very quickly and I was very happy about that. The suit itself is a great design and my son looks so cute in it. By no means can you leave a child alone in this suit because they have to figure out the balance of the floatie. My 20 month old son likes to lean forward so I've had to try to teach him to stay level. The one downer about the suit is that the inflation valve is like that of a bicycle tire and we had to go to the gas station to fill it up. But on the positive side, this is supposed to prevent air leaks even better than the usualy valves on blow up devices. I would definitely recommend this if your child is a water lover and fearless at a young age. I think these types of floatation devices work better to get kids familiar and comfortable with water.
