    Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the quality I had expected The AppFinity Fishing Rod was not what I had hoped for. It was poorly constructed and did not function properly. We were so excited to give this to our daughter on Christmas, but we ended up boxing it backup so we could return it. I expected a much better quality from Bass Pro. Also, I thought the rod was made specifically for the Bass Pro Striker App, but it is actually affiliated with a totally different fishing game (very lame one at that). The rod wouldn't release the string when it was supposed to and it took way too long to reel the line back in and the metal contacts would not function correctly. We went back and exchanged it towards the 2game Wii pack that with some extras. December 31, 2012
    Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not work with iPod Touch 4th gen My son received this as a Christmas gift. The packaging claims that this accessory works with the iPod Touch 4th Generation. I tried for over an hour and just can't make it happen. The game, The Strike Pro Angler, works both with or without the AppFinity pole, there is a setting in the game to enable AppFinity pole support. But even when I did that, the game did not function with the pole. Yes, I made sure to use the iPod insert and yes I am definitely using a 4th gen iPod Touch. The little paddles seem to touch the screen correctly when you click the release or wind the reel, but the game doesn't respond. I took out the iPod and poked the screen myself and that didn't do anything either. Once in a while, I could get it to cast. It would then immediately catch a fish and give me something like 2 billion points and the game would essentially hang. I even tried hard resetting the iPod a few times. So I'm not sure if it's a problem with the app or the pole accessory or both, but bottom line, it doesn't work. There is some consolation in that you can download the free fishing game from AppFinity which works just as well with this pole as the non-BassPro branded ones. But that game is not nearly as polished and playable, in our opinion, as The Strike. December 27, 2012
