I received this blind last week and finally was able to use it yesterday. I did my homework and watched a couple videos on youtube.com regarding the blind in making my decision to buy it. It is very simple to set-up. It springs open easily and you just have to insert the poles and put stakes in the ground. The poles go together like tent poles on a camping tent. They are very flexible and I did not have an issue with them. I’m 5’7, 150lbs, there was plenty of room for two people. If you have two large people, then it could get crowded. When I went to take the blind down, I had trouble getting it to fold up properly. IF you have problems, there are at least two great “How to” videos on youtube.com that show step by step how to fold the blind up properly. Just search for “Ameristep Doghouse Blind”. After I practiced it a few times, it is very easy. I would highly recommend this blind for the price. We’ll have to see how durable it is down the road though.

This is a good blind for the money. It is durable, lightweight and easy to setup. I noticed that the stakes that come with the blind don't hold very well. (Tent stakes are a good replacement) It also doesn't last very long one season and the wind destroyed it. Overall it is a great blind! Day of setup 30-40 turkeys came straight in without pausing at all. Will definitely buy another one.

Bought this because at 62 don't feel safe climbing tree stands anymore. Very easy to set up, takes some practice to take down to fit back in carrying case. It worked fine for gun hunting but unless your small would not recommend for bow, crossbow would be fine. Also would not recommend this for two adult hunters, just not that big. Left it up for a week and it withstood a snow storm, and winds in excess of 45 MPH with stakes provided to hold it down. Took a nice 8PT 175lb buck from it this year and plan on using it for turkey in the Spring.

I would recommend this blind. I use in it some pretty rough conditions, high winds, heavy snowfall. It is sturdy enough to support more than 6 inches of snowfall. It blew over in the wind and was durable enough to survive that without damage. Also enough room for two hunters if hunting a larger area.
My only complaint is the support beams that go on the inside have snapped during take down before.
As far as getting it to fit back into the backpack. Once you do it the first time, it is very easy to fold.
