Ameristep Brickhouse Ground Blind
good affordable blind
I've purchaced many brickhose blinds before and have had great sucsess with them. They're simple to set up and take down and very roomy making it ideal for a bow hunter. The only dislike i have with the newer style is the windows. On the older style you could open one of the sides copletely having an area of about 20 inches x 60 inches to shot through. The new blind the three windows are much smaller giving you less shooting clearance thus only the 4 star rating.Overall the price and easy use makes this a great buy.

good, not great buy
All features on this blind were great except for the wrap around hook and loop windows. If this blind had magnetic windows...it would be a great value. Set up was very easy. Roomy enough for two bow hunters. Seems durable but I have only used on one hunt so far. Zippers worked great. The full seam hook and loop windows is the only downside. They are VERY loud and you must be thinking way ahead and drop down the windows right when you first get set up. Otherwise...you will scare off every game animal for 200 yards trying to open the window. I would also like to see this blind maker start putting some small sewn in loops on the top and side of the blind to assist in hanging some cut limbs and additional cover onto. Since the material is slick and has no such loops...it is very hard to "cover in" this blind.

haven't got to hunt from the blind yet but put my blind up in the pecan grove i hunt in with 14"v stakes not the ones it came with and the next day had a storm blow through with 70mph+ winds went back out the next day expecting to find the blind damaged or just gone to my surprise it had weathered the storm perfectly there were several trees in the grove damaged a couple uprooted the brickhouse is a fitting name for this blind

nice for the price
Haven't used this blind in the field yet, bought it to replace my last two, one blew away, the other was worn out. Camo pattern is open and not to dark, a big plus. The top edge has loops for adding your own camo, also a plus. I really like the windows, don't close with zippers, they use a hook and loop closure which is silent. The four main mesh areas have a shooting hole in the middle, great for getting ranges with your rangefinder while using screen windows, and you can shoot out the holes without damaging the mesh. Mesh windows are connected with velcro, loud, but ok if you remove it ahead of time or shoot through it. The smaller side panels have not open holes built in. Interior is black. Only zipper on blind is on the door, which has no corner windows. I have had problems with rodents chewing up zippers to get into blind when unattended. A solid blind, like the quality for the price.
