These are good steps. Most of the time they start pretty easily, but sometimes I get one that is a pain to start.

I'm a 240 pounder and these steps hold me easily. I have used lighter duty ones that deflect a little bit from my weight, these don't. Also the knurled steel gives me better traction as I have nearly slipped off of the straight steel ones, especially when wet.

I bought these for 4 stands that I had to hang. The main reason I chose these is because I wanted something that was very inconspicuous to deer. In that regards they are great. On the other hand, they are a huge pain putting into the tree, even with the drill adapter. If you are looking for low profile, this is what you are looking for, if you are willing to do some work.
