Bought first deer feeder 4 years ago. Also bought an RD-Pro kit for it, the first one would not operate half the time, sent it back for a new one. This one also didn't perform well and finally just quit. The 3rd one finally worked well for 2+yrs., then after a tree limb knocked it down the Varmint Buster wouldn't work all the time, intermittently at best. So bought a new one just before July 4th and put it up that week. Thought everything was fine, so filled my 225# feeder all the way to the top with fresh corn. 3-wks. later went back up and barrel was completely empty! The timer or clock caused all the corn to sling out of the feeder! 6-sec. for one feeding each day. Battery fully charged, just over 6-1/2 v. Checked the 'time' on the clock and it was off 3 days from the actual time! Reset it, put another bag of corn in and 2-wks later checked it again. Time was off another 3-days. Called AH about the problem, tech told me to 'reset' the kit in a specific order. Did this on Friday, unit worked fine Sat. morning. Sunday morning feeder did NOT go off as set! Checked the time at 7:34am, and the clock showed Sun. 3:42am. Unit lost all this time in a 24hr. period. So I've lost 200# of corn, AH wants me to return it 'again' to send a new unit. Not going to happen like the problem I had 4 yrs. ago! Piece of junk right out of the box. Think I'll go with another brand of feeder kit now! Techs seemed wanting to help, but 'Policies' have you return it at 'YOUR COST'! This just isn't right. You guarantee a unit, then shipping back to you should be at their expense!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grumpie Great product
I own and manage a Texas deer hunting ranch and have used corn feeders from American Hunter for many years. I have changed out all my analog units to digital and they are much, much better and more user friendly with no clock damage worries. Incidentally, I get better and quicker service of these products thru Bass Pro than directly from the manufacturer. Oddly enough, the price is better through Bass Pro than from the manufactuer.
