American Hunter® R-50 Pro Hanging Feeder
R-50 Hanging Feeder
I bought one of these feeders, and absolutely drove me crazy. It does do the job but the timer will not go past the 4:00p.m. it just sits there. So every day i have go out in the woods and turn it past the 4 so it wil start to turn and make the correct time.

This works great. The timer is easy to program. Whole corn works better than cracked corn. We use rechargeable batteries, they last longer.

My son-in-law and I both purchased the R50 feeders and put them up in October. It is now past Christmas and they continue to work perfectly. During this time here in the Upper Penisula of Michigan we have experienced rain, snow, sleet, wind, and temperatures from the 70's to below zero. The feeders have worked flawlessly. The only thing we did different was to use Lithium AA batteries for the clock as they will withstand cold temperatures better than akaline. We'll be buying more R-50's next year.

I purchused 1 for My property, was going to buy 4, discovered that timer got stuck, called
company, they advised to return to store? Store took it back no questions. Seemed like they did this before.
I would not but another.

6 volt lantern battery. I suggest a re-chargeable battery and a solar pane. that way battery life wont be an issue

only takes spring top batteries ( im sure you know this )...there is a spring top battery at bass pro for 15 dollars it tells you in the directions which ones it will take can order off internet. hope this helps
well not a easy question to answer but there are 3 different levels low, medium and high and you can set it in between them however you want if you choose i just put it on the very least one and it throws out enough corn for me the medium setting is a lot.
The timer has a dial on it that shows Min-Max. I set it at approximately the 10-11 o'clock position and it is usually enough for the 7 deer I have been seeing lately. When it gets closer to the hunting season I usually up the amount to help keep the deer coming in the area.
