A great product. easy to install. is about an inch or so bigger around than a 55 gallon drum. drill bolt holes on each side of the drum, 7 1/2 " down from top edge of drum per the instructions. install the springs to the bolts and then install the bolts to the drum. put the lid on top of the drum and then attach the other end of each spring thru the pre drilled holes in the edge of the lid. walla! all done. the springs keep the lid pulled tight to the drum, yet with some effort you can lift and slide the lid off of the drum and it will hang pulled tight against the side of the drum while filling it. perfect for the homemade feeders. will buy more.

When you follow the directions and use a standard metal 55 gallon drum this works perfectly!

This lid is designed for American Hunter drums only. I have a similar lid on one of my feeders & bought this one thinking it would work the same way. It is at least 2" wider in diameter than standard drums. My lease is subject to extreme winds and the lid would not stay on through one good gust. The springs allow it to lift from the drum during windstorms letting rain in.
To make matters worse, i can't find an American Hunter drum sold without accessories & the receipt for the lid blew away while I was trying to install it.
I'm stuck with an over sized frizbee until I can find a drum that fits.
