I believe the previous "reviewer" is confusing their cast nets with another brand or their economy standard 200 series that only has 3/4 lbs of lead per ft. I use both series but prefer the heavier 200PRO Guide Series which has 1.35lbs lead per foot. It's a very solid net and opens like a dream. But even the 3/4 lbs per foot model's sink rate is what you'd expect from a 3/4lb per ft cast net should sink. Some cast net companies have switched their lead cast nets over to coated steel. Another good thing about Ahi USA is that they've stuck with what works - LEAD.

Purchased this net as a back-up to my Betts 8'--1" used for porgy,menhadden. Save yourself some time buy the betts the Ahi sinks like a helium ballon. I would not recommend this for water deeper than ONE FOOT!!!
