Rated 5 out of 5 by nowindspeed overall a good product
This unit has been a great unit overall. That said be aware the wind cups break easily. You can replace them but shipping parts is very expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Highmaster2 Still happy after 2 years
Bought one about 2 years ago. It has done very well and I really like all the various features and readings that are available. I especially like the fact that a solar powered fan circulates air through the housing so that sun load doesn't cause erroneously high temp readings.
Recently, my 5 in 1 sensor was damaged during some construction. I purchased another full system and now use the new sensor package to feed both the old and new displays. Works like a charm.
I have seen some reviews state that the wind cups and wind vane are not available as replacement parts. I was under the same impression. However, those parts are available ($5 each) from the manufacturer which is great as they are the two parts most likely to need replacing. They do get really brittle from sun exposure. Mine were brittle enough after a couple of years to disintegrate if you touch them. Still, if the 5 in 1 sensor is mounted out of the way, nothing should be touching the cups or vane under normal circumstances.
I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone needing a good, versatile weather monitoring system.

Overall an ok unit BUT....
The Wind Cups are on very flimsy arm extensions from the hub and will shear off in the lightest hail event. It may be a function of exposure of the plastic to the sun but my last set of cups lasted about 6 months. AcuRite doesn't sell just the wind cups so if your make a repair you must buy the top portion of the unit at a pretty high cost of $21.99 but as of now even that part is out of stock.
For over a hundred dollars I would expect a unit that can stand up to being used out of doors as intended.
There must be better choices.

Rated 4 out of 5 by silkcityflorida Good value unit, BUT
The first unit I received had some sort of problem with the rain collection bucket. Acu-Rite readily agreed to replace it although it took over 2 weeks due to a back-order situation.
It installed easily, and appears to be accurate. My only complaint is with the display unit. Black letters on a medium-to-darker blue background is difficult to read unless you are right next to the display. It would be nicer to be able to choose colors, e.g. white letters on a red background, or black letters on a white background. This would make the display much easier to read from across the room.
Overall, though, I am very pleased with the unit and would recommend it to friends.
