i have the 7ft mh and i fish 3 to 5 days a wk and i have not had a problem with this rod and ive had it for a year and it has served me well sensativity is good it has good backbone for hard hook sets in the california san juaquin delta am very happy with the rod and it has helped me catch lots of fish. ro also makes a good fit with my johnny morris reel.

I have been using this rod for CA fishing. Love the rod until it exploded on me on hook set. Never in my life have I had this happen. I didnt even really put that much pressure on the hook set. When it exploded it the line snapped. I love the sensitivity of the rod and want another one. I hope my rod was just a bad one in the batch. This was only the 2nd time I was using the rod and the 5th fish trying to catch.

I am on rod #2, after several issues with #1, and to Abu Garcia's credit they made it right. Any way this pole is pure pleasure to fish with when it isn't broke, the sensitivity and lightness of the pole are stellar, but there seems to be some flaws in the design of the pole. I have never seen so many reviews with broken pole and this is another one. My rod broke while making a cast and the line became entangled around the top two eyelets, this has happened to me many time on other rods with no issues.

My rod was great was able to battle all sorts of fish that I encounter while fishing the Miss. River big and small. Excellent sensitivity and feel in the hand, action was great
up until
trying trying to land a huge sturgeon, hook came undone close to net rod recoiled and snapped
had it paired with my Revo Premier, I babied this combo, never dropped or anything so I don't know what could have caused the break

Could someone who has experience with high end rods please review this rod after using it for awhile. It really is getting boring reading reviews of rods by people who havin't even used the rod yet or even more than a couple times. I really rely on the reviews of people that I can easily tell they now what they are talking about . I sometimes take a chance and buy new rods before solid reviews are out but I'm bound and determined to wait it out on these rods because when I read all the reviews on the new Abu Garcia rods,Verdicts,Vendettas,Veritas, it's fairly easy to see that most of the reviews have been reviewed a little too soon for me. I myself really waited awhile to review my rods when I first bought some high end rods so that I had someting to base my opions on . Would someone else with the same resolve help me out on these rods. I'm sorry if this affends some of you who review these rods . I'm not angry just impatient for the type of review I'm looking for. Thanks for any help I can get on these rods.Answers

i use this rod quite fequently. i enjoy it but it does have one flaw that in my opinion is minor. the adjustable handle will come unlocked when tucked into your arm while reeling. i use mine fulling extended so i dont notice when it happens. the feel on this rod is tremendous i can feel the difference between lake bottom, tree bumb, rocks, grass and most important fish strikes. i do recommend this rod.A:Â
I own the Veritas and the Verdict. I have used the Falcon rods for many years. The two rods mentioned above will perform just as well as my higher dollar rods.A:Â
I own Steez, Carrot Stick, St Croix, - several other top of the line rods, and the ABU Garcia Veritas is incredible value for the money. I fish the Carrot Stick (with a Daiwa Zillion) exclusively as a worm Rod, and after buying the ABU Garcia, Veritas (with an ABU Garcia Revo STX,) the combo has me constantly switching. Very responsive, excellent feel, 10 guides, and GREAT value over the higher end. I rate the Veritas a VALUE BUY for sure. PS - I have fished with it at least 30 times since it was introduced by ABU G. I rarely will reccomend a Rod outright, because everyone fishes differently and users will always have different perceptions from the same item. This is an exception to that, as its an exceptional rod for $99.Answers
