one of the best rods i own this is one of the best made rods i have used well made, durable and dependable. looks great and is at a great price even better with rebate.have had this rod and a spinning rod like it and love them. very sensitive, fits your hands well and comfortable.has held up to about two days a week fishing for year and still works and looks great both work well when using braid i have really enjoyed these rods April 4, 2013
Beautiful rod I own a 7' medium heavy fast action Vendetta. I really like the look and feel of this rod sets the hook great and really has a tough backbone but my biggest complaint is that the rod is too stiff i would go back down to a medium or at least a longer version with an extra fast tip. When you do get hooked up with a nice fish though you will be glad you had this rod in your hand because it will have the power to move those fish out of any type of heavy cover. It only got a 4 because out of all my bait casters this is by far the stiffest rod that I have. Great rod if you are on a budget. April 1, 2013
very good rod for a budget Very good rod for a budget rod is a well built rod for being 80 dollars. I paired it with the Bass Pro Bionic Plus reel. Has a very stiff tip. I bought the 7'0 medium and i have had it for about a month and it has beend awesome so far. April 15, 2013
Dependable rod Have this rod in a 7' mh paired with the abu Garcia orra 2sx reel. Great rod at a great price. The rod is light and the handle is comfortable for all day fishing. Strong enough to pull a 7lb largemouth out of the weeds for me (one of my personal bests) but also sensitive enough for lighter lures. Fished this rod hard all year with no problems whatsoever. You can't go wrong with anything Abu Garcia. December 18, 2014

A:
There are many sensitive rods on the market between $100-$150; however, what feels sensitive to you can only be truly known by pairing up the reel you plan to use and fishing with it. An in-store way of checking a rod's sensitivity can be achieved by holding the rod out and having someone very gently touch the tip. It is often best to do so with your eyes closed. In my opinion, a St.Croix Eyecon rod is hard to beat in the sensitivity department and they go for under $150. The only downside to the line is that they lack powerful rods because they are Walleye specific. They will cover just about all spinning presentations you'll need, though. A great casting rod that is sensitive, light, powerful, and cost effective is the Carbonlite sold at BPS. For the coin, you won't find a better rod.

Hi, the more the item will cost the more sensitive like the St. Croix® Legend Elite® Series Casting Rods for $379.99. Otherwise, you might try this one or the B'n'M Sam Heaton Super Sensitive Jig Rod SKU 571918. Thank You!

Bass Pro doesn't carry the Daiwa. I will use for heavy pitching and Muskie fishing.

Yes, this would work.

For pitching, most anglers opt for slightly shorter rods, around 7 feet, 6'8"-7'3" being the popular range. The shorter length will help the underhanded delivery necessary for the technique. The rod should feature a flexible tip with lots of backbone to pull big fish from thick cover while delivering the bait precisely on target as noiselessly as possible.

Thank you!

This rod can handle big bass on shiner rigs without issue. Make certain you chose the correct length, power, and action for doing so. Many guides I know use longer, more limber rods when live bait fishing; however, for big Florida bass, you may need a stiffer blank to stay with the fish. Castability is also a consideration, especially when free-lining. A medium to medium heavy power rod that's not too fast will be a good starting point. Your height will impact how comfortable you are with a given length of rod, too. Give it a try and see what works for you.

If I had 1 rod to use for all 3 techniques, it would be a 7 foot, Medium-Heavy Power, Fast Action rod. It is just right for buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and when paired with braided line, powerful enough to frog with. If your casting is efficient enough, you can still make accurate casts with buzzbaits and spinners into tight places with a 7 foot rod. Just make sure to change lines accordingly. I like 17-20 pound fluorocarbon most of the time for buzzbaits and spinners. (most say to only use mono or braid on buzzbaits but I have no issues with the fluorocarbon because I hold my rod tip up most of the time). I always frog with a minimum of 30 pound braid and typically with 50-65 pound line. A solid drag reel with a 6:1 ratio or so gives you enough speed to catch up and is not too fast to slow down. If you have extra cash, buy a high speed reel and a heavier rod for frogging.

I have the 7' mh also paired with the orra 2sx. I fish spinnerbaits a lot and this size and power are a good fit for most types of lures

Hi, thank you for your question. For Bass Fishing with Buzzbaits and Spinnerbaits
A seven-foot baitcast rod is an ideal choice here, as it will provide better casting distance, leverage and the ability to pick up line quickly.
