A sweet, super-sensitive IM-6 graphite rod with top-grade components, our Bass Pro Shops® Graphite Series Trigger Rods are serious fishing tools featuring high-grade IM-6 graphite blanks. Every Graphite Rod model is built with Fuji aluminum oxide guides, for near-friction-free casting performance and enhanced "feel" on the retrieve. Definitely a good combo for the money. The reel is smooth, quiet, and solid. I will probably also purchase the Abu Garcia Black Max reel in the future, or if not, another Silver Max.

Awesome setup for the price. I would suggest this combo to anyone from a starter because it is easy to use to an amatuer/novice tournament fisherman like myself. I selected the 7' M rod and the combo is great. The braking system on the silver max is great so just make sure to adjust the brake and bearings to the lure weight you are using and the casts will be long and smooth with no backlash.

Nothing bad but bass pro tourney pro combo a bit cheaper with same overall performance. 5 bearing, dual brake, and it comes with a im7 graphite rod instead of the 6 (stronger). I'd check that over as a option. Used one of those for quite a while as my first baitcaster and was a great deal, good performance and you will then either love em or hate em.
