When I first held this reel and casted it I said "this thing is really good" then I looked at the price tag and said "this thing is great." if you get backlash with this real then stick to spinning because you aren't quite ready yet. landed plenty of fish from baby's to five and six pounders and never heard a grind or buzz. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was the lack of longevity.

I actually bought this reel on a combo at a yard sale for $30, it was my first baitcaster. I always loved the idea of using one, since that's what all the pro's seem to use.
After using it a few times, I kept getting horrible backlashes and eventually I just gave up.
Now, about a year later, I decided to pick me up a nice Pflueger baitcaster rod, 10lb fluorocarbon line and give it another shot, and I'm hooked on this reel now.
I just wish it was a left hand retrieve, instead of right, but hey.
If you got horrible backclashes, make sure you are using a good baitcaster pole and line, still got problems? Use heavier lures.

I bought this on a combo for $90 which is great. The reel is really smooth and there isn't any buzzing that you can get on a lot of cheaper reels. The braking system is better than on my black max which is a few dollars cheaper.

My friend gave one to me and this thing is the non smoothest, bad casting reel, worst backlashing reel ever. Worst reel I've ever had. Very noisy when casting, my dad says that it sounds like an airplane. Also very noisy when reeling in. You can feel the gears skipping. Defiantly not worth $60. I like a lot of abu's stuff but this is not one of them. Abu you missed the target in this one. If your looking for a good 60 dollar get the bass pro nitro z tournament or the browning Midas. Please don't waste your money
