Must have for Reels Must have for any reels that are not new. Keeps them running super smooth. Def. reccomended August 18, 2011
lasts and lasts Have been using this product for 7+ years. Do not overuse, because this stuff lasts a long time on your bears and gears. Less is more with this great product. August 16, 2011
Long time user I have used Abu Garcia reel oil for over 30 years and have never had a problem with my equipment. In my opinion it's the best insurance for trouble free fishing. August 16, 2011
needs aplicator This stuff is modest, it doesn't need to brag about molecular bonding because it just works. Much better than like quantum hot sauce that costs close to 5 times as much. Makes casts like hot butter. June 5, 2011

A:
Generally, reel oil is applied to bearings (1 drop per bearing), spool shafts and bushings. Reel grease is applied to drive gears and worm gears and maybe other parts. I suggest you read the instructions and parts schematic for your reel. Use this oil sparingly, not like I used to. Your oil will last longer and you won't gunk up your reel. If the tip on this is too big to get the oil into small spaces, try putting some in a small container and using a toothpick to dribble a drop or 2 where you want it. Good luck!

just pop off the side cover with a small screwdriver and give her a few squirts. check to make sure the inside is clean and free of debris. q-tips are a good choice to degunk the inside. seal her back up and you're ready to go!
