Abu Garcia Revo Winch Baitcast Reel
First Nice Baitcaster!
Bought this reel (LH version) in the spring and paired it with a MH 7'9 Volatile rod. Combo worked excellent for throwing big muskie lures and especially crank baits. This was my first expensive baitcaster and the first low pro baitcaster I have ever bought. The left hand retrieve cut the learning curve in half when I began using it. The centrifugal brake, magnets, and drop knob allow for matching almost any lure weight to it with no backlash. I have found that throwing light (less that 1/2 oz.) is difficult, though that is probably my own error. Its not backlashing that creates the difficultyof light lures its getting good casting distance.
I took it off the muskie rod and paired it with a steelhead rod. The reel works excellent for throwing 3/4 oz spoons! I landed around 20 chromers averaging around 7 lbs. with no problem at all. Also landed a 20 lb king salmon in the lower Niagara Rivers current! The drag is smooth as silk. I also really like the large spool and power handle, which allows for the perfect amount of leverage for fighting fish in strong currents.
Overall this is by far my favorite reel! You get what you pay for and this reel has done nothing but impress me. Thanks Abu, I now look up your reels first when I am in the market for a new one.

Casts FAR, Holds lots of line, Gets my Crank DOWN
This is a very light reel that is hard to backlash, and it is also a very nice palm-able reel so its very comfortable when fishing crank baits. Its my go to reel for any bait with a lip. I also love the clicks when you adjust the brake system so you know when you've gone up a notch or down a notch. It makes it easy to "remember" your settings for different weights.

Great DD Reel
I bought this reel to use with my deep diving crank baits. I paired it with a 7' 11" Duckett Crankin rod. The reel casts a mile and is very smooth. It feels like your reeling in a shallow running crank bait, with this reel, it's that good! Your hand and arms won't get tired casting DD's all day long. Anyone that has done it knows that it can take a lot out of you when your fishing deep baits. You definitely get what you pay for with this reel!

abu- revo winch
Own 2 of these since 2013 classic sale. These are #20 & #21 of my arsenal, all other's are BPS brand. Make no mistake, i love BPS reels, and am a big fan, original JM chrome, blue elites, gold's,and 4 current model signature series, unbeatable bang for the buck. But these Abu's are noticeably smoother and dont nearly backlash as easy. Huge handle, which is significant when deep crankin' , makes for a deceptively slow retrive. I do feel the only negative is the 180' line capicity, just adds too much inertia/mass to the over all rpm of a long "max effort" cast, which still could backlash a bit. If BPS reel's are 8 out of 10...these are 9 out of 10! But for $200.00 retail, hard to beat!!
