The Abu Garcia Revo STX Baticast Reel offers superior casting control and precision. The Revo STX boasts ten stainless steel High Performance Corrosion Resistant ball bearings and an X2-Cräftic alloy frame for increased corrosion resistance. C6 carbon sideplates provide significant weight reduction without sacrificing strength and durability. A Carbon Matrix drag system provides smooth, consistent drag pressure over the entire drag range, and the D2 Gear Design means a more efficient gear system with improved gear durability. The Revo STX's Infini brake system allows almost limitless adjustability and the Infini II spool design is utilized for extended castability and extreme loads. A compact bent handle and star make for a more ergonomic design and a titanium-coated line guide reduces friction and improves durability.

Rated 3 out of 5 by The old génération was better !!! The old génération was better !!! I'm speaking about the gen. 2 and gen. 1 reels. Because there better built reels and have a lot less cheap materials, more resistant, so more durable, more efficient and have better performances. March 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Abu Garcia for LIFE!! I recently purchased the Revo STX and I was amazed at how well it preformed! This thing is a beast!! I was so excited to use it, I adjusted the braking system and headed out to the lake, forgetting to adjust the drag! I hooked a 3lbs 3oz large mouth on a baby brush hog and the fish immediately started to take drag. I was very impressed at how well the drag system worked, it was as smooth as the cast!! Not rough at all!! Once I adjusted my drag, the reel had plenty of power to crank the fish in. Definitely worth the money if you fish a lot. One of the best reels on the market, period!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by This reel wont disapoint This reel is wicked smooth. Dual breaking is amazing when throwing into the wind. I bought the 6:4:1 ratio and have this as my square billed light duty crank bait reel. Awesome reel, almost bought the winch which has the same smoothness but wanted the reel to be versatile incase I needed it as a back up worm reel. Every bit worth the $200 bucks. Very impressive reel handles. Not fatiguing like bulky rubber ones. June 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Shimano over Abu Garcia I bought this reel last Christmas on the advice of the associate at bps based on a stronger drag system and better bearings than the Shimano Chronarch. Its not a bad reel but I wish I would have went with the Shimano. My Shimano's cast further, smoother, and I just feel I have more power with my Shimano's than I do my STX. Like I said, not a bad reel but I wont buy another one. Im sticking with Chronarchs from this point forward. I also bought the Winch and there has been a couple different times that the spool did not engage and the gears were just grinding together. Never have had that trouble with a Shimano. June 2, 2013

Is it braded or mono filament ??? if it's mono , i suggest you to buy bradiez line because you will have a lot more line on your reel for the same resistance of lb. test.

A:
This all depends on the thickness of the line. I use 12lb Stren fluro-carbon, which is 0.013mm thick, and put 145 yards on the reel and it cast fine. If you look at the spool, it should tell you how many mm thick the line is. I would guess being 20lb magnathin line it is probably between 0.014-0.016mm thick. I would say about 125 yards of the line should fit and cast well on the reel.

There should be a line on the spool of your reel, right befor the curve on the edge of the top of the spool. Fill it up and don't forget to use monofiliment to start the spool or the line will spin around and you will get no drag. Hope this helps.
