Precision engineered durability and long-lasting performance. The Abu Garcia Orra SX Spinning Reel is the top-of-the-line in the Orra family of reels. The reel features an ultra-smooth nine bearing system plus a sealed Carbon Matrix drag system. A one-piece gearbox provides superior gear alignment to produce a smooth feel. The Orra SX also features a corrosion-resistant X-Craftic alloy frame. A unique corkscrew design of the machined spool allows braid to be tied directly to the spool without the use of a mono backing. Also included is a high-capacity monofilament spool.
Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by TERRIBLE REEL So i decided to purchase this reel to replace my bps pro qualifier, there was nothing wrong with my bps reel, i just wanted a smaller reel. I originally wanted to go ahead and buy a smaller pro qualifier but thought to myself, why not get something different? So i did... Two things about this reel that makes it unusable is 1. the ability for the reel to hold line. I spooled mine with 100yds of 6# test and on my first cast, about 15yds of the line jumped off the spool, i thought maybe it can't hold as much line as its advertised to so took some out, on my next cast the very same thing happend. I even took half the line off the spool and tried casting it and what do you know, the same thing happend. 2. the line twist in this reel is rediculous. Even with the issue above, I've been trying to make it worth the $100 i spent on the reel so ive kept on using it, this reel takes line twist to a whole other level. i get loops and twists in the spool about every 10 casts. SAVE YOUR $100 AND DON'T GET THIS REEL! July 22, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 love hate relationship i used this reel for a month, loved it, smooth, long casts looks great, then it started to bind up, bearings went out.i had a fish on the line and the reel was stuck, couldnt reel it in. July 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Casts Forever! This reel is absolutely amazing! I bought it yesterday, got home and decided to try some casts. I hooked a soft plastic wacky style, as thats what i was told worked well for bass (I'm not really experienced in what works for what) anyways, this reels in nice too! This is a great reel, if your willing to spend the money, which, when you think about it is an amazing one for this product. Pick one up and enjoy it today! Good job again Abu Garcia. Rated 3 out of 5 ok for the money Its a good reel for the money it will handle braid and mono fine but there is a lot of memory with fluro. I used seagar invisex 8 lb and there was a lot of line twist that I did not get with my old quantum energy. Drag is really smooth and will throw a mile but will twist line. Bummer. June 27, 2012

Details:
I have read that you have to wrap spools with tape to keep braided lines from spinning. The Abu Garcia Orra SX spinning reel comes with a special spool made for braid. Do I have to wrap it with tape or can I just line in with braid and not have to worry about it spinning.

A:
If the Braid Spool is like my old first edition SX then the spool has 2 rubber "O" rings on it which will grip the line to keep it from slipping.
I'll be ordering a new version of the SX this fall.

No, it is not exclusive to Bass Pro. but as of right now it brand new so bass pro might be the only one with it on their website. Went to the store 2 days ago and it was not for sale or on display. It is just brand new.
