Rated 5 out of 5Â by Kimble Superb reel
This is one great reel . I own 2 of them , the s3 & s4 . Both are as smooth as silk . Using braided line is no problem , cast far and smooth .

My new Orra s looks and feels good in the hand. Right out of the box it was very hard to crank. It was as if the handle kept tightening up as line was retreived to the point the handle would not turn. Until I can remedy this issue I can't recommend it.

This reel is so smooth . I've owned many spinning reels in my day . This is the best reel I have ever owned . Own reels that cost twice as much and not nearly as smooth as this one . Paired with abu Garcia Vendetta 7 ft MH rod . Looks awesome. Great job Abu Garcia .

I feel that this reel deserve a 4 star. I have had my reel, Orra S 30. I've used TufLine 30lb and 40lb braid, and I have not caught anything, but with Suffix 832 20lb line, I've had success. I've caught plenty bass with this reel. I'm happy with this reel, but I feel like I could have went for something better.
The bail is a bit filmsy. It can bend into shapes if taking abuses. For example, my line/hook gets stuck in a rock, I have to pull the reel/rod straight away from the wherever the line/hook is stuck for the line to break off. This is where bail gets out of shape. I haven't caught more than 4lb bass, but I have caught one medium to large snakehead, and it handled it well, but I lost this snakehead due to line not efficient enough for snakehead.
If you know what you're doing, this reel would be great. If you feel you're willing to invest some more money in a reel, go for something better.

Should work great. I have this reel and its beastly strong. Frame has like no flex and drag is amazingTop 500 Contributor

You can use it for that purpose. If you plan on using it solely for salmon/steelhead,I suggest the size 40 model due to the higher drag rating and line capacity.Details:Â
I received this as a gift with a Bass Pro Bionic BCB66HS 6'6" rod. Is this a good match for bass fishing in the Northeast?Answers

The rod is a little short for my liking, but great in brush and thickly wooded banks. Also easy on the wrist and hand in long-term events, particularly with the light little 20 size. I would recommend 10 lb. Braid in order to get enough on there to handle the unexpected.1 of 1
