Abu Garcia Orra 2 SX I love this reel. This is my first Abu reel and now I'm sold , this reel cast a mile and the drag is marvelous. I am a satisfied customer, and I'm totally sold on Abu reels November 27, 2014
Great reel for the money All my Abu Garcia reels are great I have 4 5500c3 originals and they still work to this day. but they don't make them the same anymore, so I started looking for an alternative and this was it.I bought this reel two years ago and i love it. I fish freshwater and inshore and have caught some huge 27-35in redfish on this reel and the drag is strong. this reel holds up great in the salt water, but you should always spray off anything used in saltwater so I take it apart and clean it probably around every third trip. This reel can cast a mile even in the wind as long as you know how to use the braking system. I'm looking forward to getting this second generation orra sx because I love mine and this one should be even better October 1, 2014
Great Reel!!!!! This reel is very easy to use and uncomplicated. It fixes every problem that the max family has which are the button sticks and the gears grind after a while. It casts a mile and is very smooth. It doesn't need maintenance often at all and the button clicks perfectly and doesn't stick. If you can afford it this is a perfect start up reel or anything above. If not then go with one of the maxes, but the orra will will stay in your rod arsenal for life. September 16, 2014
Great Reel I got to try out my new reel yesterday . After getting it set the way I wanted it I had a good time casting it with no backlash and I was very pleased with the retrieve. SMOOTH ! I love every thing about it and plan on buying another one. September 5, 2014

I have not use the Daiwa Exceler, But i use my Orra sx 7.1:1 to pitch and flip and it is a total joy to use. I bought a Quantum Accurist for flipping and haven't used it since i got the Orra sx. Hope this helps some.

Hi, thank you for your question. You will get a wide variety of answers when it comes to choosing a pitching/flipping reel from different Anglers. The truth is flipping and pitching reels can be the same reels you use every day for other techniques but they should be high speed, around 6:1 or higher. Therefore, either reel would work for your technique.

Abu Garcia makes a orra inshore that is made for saltwater, but I use this real is brackish water and it has held up
For 2 years just fine but I clean it alot so if you don't want to worry about your internals being ate up by salt water get the orra inshore

This is a freshwater reel, if used in saltwater as you know you would need to throughly clean the reel after use. It is not recommended for saltwater.
