Rated 4 out of 5Â by RiverBrown Not a bad reel at all
I have had a few of these reels size 20. I love them and have caught many Salmon and Trout in the river with it. The reel is smooth and the drag is clean. The only downfall is the plastic outer parts it has that work fine but the finish wears off. Reel still works great but looks dull with the plastic parts finish worn away. Awsome priced reel I would deff. recommend to anybody wanting a lower price reel that will hold up. I matched mine up with a Shakespeare Micro Graphite 7' light action rod.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by profisher21 GREAT BUY!!!!
this reel has been one of my best. A lot of people would say that for the price to not get it. They are wrong. This is a great rell if it were priced 150$ the gears are so smooth. I rig it up with a Abu Garcia Vendetta 6-6 medium action rod. Abu Garca has never dissapointed me and this is not an acception. Get this reel!!!

I really like this reel. It is smooth, relatively light, and it looks cool. I have been able to fish this reel over 5 times (day long trips) and I can say that I am impressed. For $30 you can't go wrong. The smooth drag aloud me to land a 5 pound 2 oz largemouth with ease. I've always used more expensive Abu Garcia reels but this small cheap reel has proven fit for me. I love using it on my 6'6'' Veritas for shaky head and wacky rig fishing. Overall a great reel for the price. I would highly recommend this to anyone from the novice angler to the professional.

I purchased the S5-C to pair with a 5' ultra-light Shimano Voltaeus spinning rod. First, the reel seems much smaller than it should be, which belies the weight of the reel: More on parr with a micro-light reel. In addition, it seems cheaply made, with plastic handle seat and plastic handle nut. Every second rotation on retrieve, it gets noticably tighter and some friction is evident. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is the price, but, if I could do it over, I'd not buy this reel. Bottom line: Spend another $10.00 and get the Pflueger GX7 or Mitchell Avocet lV. Seriously! Don't buy this reel; it's more of a toy than an angler's tool.
